A leading global consulting firm in Hamburg is seeking Engagement Managers to lead problem-solving teams and drive strategic projects in the Retail & Consumer Goods sector. Ideal candidates will have over 6 years of experience, strong analytical abilities, and exceptional communication skills. This role offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on professional growth, creativity, and collaboration. Strong knowledge of the industry and fluency in German and English are required.
Oliver Wyman’s Retail and Consumer Goods Practice addresses the full spectrum of challenges and opportunities faced by retailers and consumer goods companies. From defining strategic differentiators and creating compelling customer propositions to optimizing cost structures, we help shape transformative strategies, drive operational excellence, and unlock remarkable organizational value—all within the context of a rapidly evolving consumer landscape and increasingly competitive market.
We are now looking for outstanding professionals with expertise in the Retail & Consumer Goods sector to join our dynamic and vibrant team in this space. This is your opportunity for a rewarding, long-term career within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment —where your impact will be valued and your professional growth actively supported.
Experienced professionals bring us the know-how to make lasting change for our clients and our company. We are not typical ‘management’ consultants. We provide industry- and discipline-specific knowledge and expertise, which amplifies our impact and helps us shape the future for our clients. Oliver Wyman is a diverse and entrepreneurial partnership of individuals who like to pursue new opportunities or build a unique franchise doing what they do best in a collegial, fun environment.
You will lead the team through an efficient and effective problem-solving process from initial hypothesis based on deep industry and function know-how through convergence on a solution. You will ensure that recommendations are bold, practical, relevant and cohesive. It’s a role that demands thought leadership at the strategic level – and command of project leadership and stakeholder management capabilities. You will need great communication skills and the ability to forge strong relationships.
Clients hire Oliver Wyman for strategy design and deep expertise. The ideal candidate will have most of the following:
Working as part of our global, entrepreneurial company, you will do meaningful work from day one. We are looking for individuals who challenge the norm, and constantly strive to build something new for the firm and the world around us.
At Oliver Wyman, there's no "one size fits all" - we hire exceptional people and help them thrive through a built-in support network, flexible career paths, and no artificial barriers to advancement.
We have a collaborative, supportive and impactful team environment - we want you to bring your authentic self and enjoy working alongside diverse and down-to-earth colleagues who do serious work, but don't take themselves too seriously.
We create breakthroughs to achieve the amazing
We stand behind our beliefs while exploring what drives them. We stand up for what is right and persevere through difficulty. We venture into the unknown, staying open to our greatest possibilities.
We build relationships with clients and colleagues that last, grounded in transparency, authenticity, and trust. We love what we do and have fun while we do it. And we combine this passion with rigor and skill to drive sustainable performance.
We bring deep expertise and profound curiosity to the pursuit of ambitious ideas and uncommon insights. We ask bigger questions, seek diverse perspectives, and challenge ourselves to find the most powerful and sustainable solutions.
We succeed as a unified team of colleagues and clients, achieving together what separately would be beyond our reach. We care for and develop one another. We learn from differences, overcome divisions, and celebrate our shared achievements.
We act as entrepreneurs and stewards of the firm. We own the journey, acting with integrity at every step. And we own our impact, holding ourselves to the highest standards to deliver stronger results for our clients, better opportunities for each other and lasting change for society.
