Job summary

Hypersonica in Europe is seeking a senior hardware designer to shape aerospace-grade circuits and boards. You will own end-to-end development from schematics to layout, collaborate with FPGA, software, and mechanical teams, and ensure rigorous compliance with industry standards.

Your hands-on approach will directly impact mission-critical hardware used in defence technology. You should bring 5+ years of regulated-industry hardware experience, deep knowledge of signal and power integrity, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years in digital, mixed-signal, and analog hardware design in aerospace/defense or regulated industries.
• Track record delivering deployed PCB electronics for mission-critical systems.
• Hands-on Altium Designer experience from schematic capture to multi-layer layout.
• Strong grasp of signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC/EMI principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Perform component selection, circuit simulation, and design verification.
• Design power distribution, signal conditioning, and sensor interface circuits.
• Analyze SI/PI and EMC/EMI performance.
• Support board bring-up, debugging, validation, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with FPGA, embedded software, and mechanical teams.
• Prepare design and manufacturing documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure MIL-STD-461/810 conformance.
• Support prototype builds, qualification testing, and production transfer.

What you'll do

Who You Are

• Approximately 5+ years of professional experience in digital, mixed-signal, and analog hardware design for aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experienced hardware design engineer with a track record of delivering deployed PCB-based electronics in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated sectors.
• Skilled across digital, mixed-signal, and analog circuit design, with hands-on Altium Designer experience from schematic capture through multi-layer layout.
• Strong grasp of signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC/EMI principles, able to resolve competing physical constraints (space, thermal, cost, manufacturability).
• Comfortable owning designs end-to-end: simulation, verification, prototype bring-up, debugging, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborative across disciplines - works closely with FPGA, embedded software, and mechanical engineering teams.
• Rigorous and detail-oriented, with an instinct for reliability and compliance in mission-critical systems.
• Motivated by hands-on delivery of flight- or mission-critical hardware over theoretical work.
