TGS International Group in Frankfurt is seeking a senior electrical commissioning lead for a major data centre programme. You will own the commissioning plan end-to-end, coordinating interfaces with mechanical, controls and building systems, and act as the primary commissioning contact for client, consultants, utilities and manufacturers.

The role is site-based in Frankfurt with a 17 days on / 4 days off rotation for travelling employees, overseeing HV/MV/LV systems, energisation, IST, handover

Qualifikationen

• Electrical commissioning experience on complex building services or mission-critical projects.
• Experience managing the commissioning lifecycle from pre-commissioning through energisation and IST to final handover.
• Strong knowledge across HV, MV and LV systems, transformers, switchgear, protection, UPS, generators and electrical controls.
• Right to work in Germany or the EU.

Aufgaben

• Develop and manage project-specific commissioning plans, programmes, procedures and system readiness activities.
• Take commissioning from pre-commissioning through energisation, IST, handover and close-out.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of HV, MV and LV distribution, switchgear and protection, transformers, UPS, generators, lighting and power, earthing, lightning protection, BMS, EPMS and electrical controls.
• Review commissioning procedures, method statements, switching schedules and test scripts before execution.
• Lead system walkdowns, energisation readiness reviews and commissioning safety activities.
• Coordinate witness testing, inspections, client acceptance and operational handover.
• Manage commissioning records, test results, certification, snagging, defect resolution and final turnover documentation.
• Direct subcontractor and OEM teams to protect the commissioning programme.

Frankfurt is one of the busiest data centre markets in Europe, and this is a senior commissioning seat on a major programme there. You would own the electrical side end to end: pre-commissioning and system readiness, energisation, integrated systems testing, acceptance and handover.

The role

You will lead electrical commissioning on a large-scale data centre build, owning the commissioning plan and programme rather than supporting someone else's. Day to day you coordinate interfaces with mechanical, controls and wider building systems, hold commissioning milestones across construction, design, QA/QC, subcontractors and specialist vendors, and act as the primary commissioning contact for the client, consultants, utilities and manufacturers. It is a site-based role in Frankfurt, offered on a 17 days on / 4 days off rotation for travelling employees.

What you will be doing

What you need

• Electrical commissioning experience on complex building services or mission-critical projects, ideally data centres
• Evidence of personally managing the commissioning lifecycle from pre-commissioning through energisation and IST to final handover
• Strong technical knowledge across HV, MV and LV systems, transformers, switchgear, protection, UPS, generators and associated electrical controls
• Experience planning energisation, reviewing switching schedules and coordinating safe system handover
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• The right to work in Germany or the EU

Useful, not essential

• AP / SAP status, or membership of a recognised professional institution
• Data centre commissioning and integrated systems testing exposure
• Strong understanding of BMS / EPMS interfaces and electrical system integration

The package

• €120,000 – €150,000 basic salary, depending on experience
• 17 days on / 4 days off rotation for travelling employees
• Flights, accommodation and a €1,200 per month living allowance for rotational travellers
• The travel package applies to employees working away from their normal country or local base, not to locally based Frankfurt employees
