Job summary

Elevate Aircraft Seating LLC. is seeking an Electrical Certification Engineer to ensure airworthiness and certification compliance for electrical systems in aircraft seats and cabin furniture.

You will lead certification activities, review technical documentation, and work with suppliers, customers, and regulators in an international setting. The role requires a degree in Electrical/Electronic or Aeronautical engineering, 5+ years of experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical/Electronic or Aeronautical engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of airworthiness regulations and requirements.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the field.
• Good communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and adapt quickly.
• Fluent in English; EU work permit required; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure airworthiness and certification compliance for electrical seats and cabin systems.
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities on certification activities.
• Define qualification requirements, review documentation, and support product development.
• Lead software validation and create/validate certification documents (ATPs, Grounding/Bonding, ELAs).
• Oversee equipment supplier management and review of certification documents.

(Electrical) Certification Engineer - Electrical Architect (all genders)

Position Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and certification compliance of electrical systems integrated into aircraft seats and cabin furniture. Collaborating closely with suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities, you will lead certification activities, define qualification requirements, review and create technical documentation, and support the development of innovative aerospace products in an international and dynamic environment.

Your Duties - (Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested)

• The Electrical Certification Engineer substantiates and verifies that the development of the electrical equipment installed in the seats and furniture are in accordance with all relevant certification requirements and meets the customers specification
• Capable of analyzing the LRU (Line Replaceable Units) specifications, the OEM, Customer and Regulatory requirements and definition of their justification for the related projects
• Performing DFMEAs as well as defining the testing requirements and the equipment qualification to be fulfilled by the suppliers of the electrical components
• Technical Management of the Electrical Equipment Suppliers including their Equipment related certification documents review and approval
• Capable of creating Software Validation (e.g. for Seat Actuation Systems)
• Capability to write and/or checking seat relevant electrical certification documents like Acceptance Test Plan & Report, Grounding and Bonding calculations, Electrical Load Analysis, Safety System Assessment / Safety Analysis and furthermore

Your Qualification

• University Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• Profound knowledge of airworthiness regulations and requirements.
• A minimum of 5 years or more of direct experience.
• Competencies of Project Management, communication proficiency, and leadership.
• Experience in working at a high pace with change settings; able to provide direction and pivot where needed whilst facing high levels of ambiguity.
• Highly collaborative team player with strong problem-solving skills and a hands‑on approach.
• Capable of working in English.
• Applicants need a work permit in the European Union.
• Willingness to travel as required.
