EIB Trainee – Secretariat General – Institutional Representation Division – Madrid, Spain

Join the EIB Trainee – Secretariat General – Institutional Representation Division – Madrid, Spain role at the European Investment Bank (EIB).

This position is based at the EIB Local office in Madrid, Spain and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment.

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026).

Eligibility: Only applications from nationals of the European Union Member States or from countries that have been officially granted candidate status can be considered (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine). Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the traineeship will not be considered. Please limit your applications to a maximum of three submissions; only the first three will be retained.

Responsibilities:

• Organisation of events and meetings (logistics and invitations), liaising with venues and creating lists of VIPs for invitations.
• Contacting public organisations.
• Liaising with colleagues from EU Commission and EU Parliament.
• Collecting data, preparing databases, and performing guided analysis.
• Preparing presentations, writing draft notes, screening interlocutors and companies, and other tasks as needed.
• Supporting the Head of Office with the development of Social Media to improve communication of the Office and EIB projects in Spain.

Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills:

• Final year of studies or university degree preferably in Communication and/or Business Administration.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence and Microsoft 365 tools would be an advantage.
• Good communication skills and proactive attitude.
• Good drafting skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint; working knowledge of Social Media platforms, especially Linked‑In.
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and French; knowledge of Spanish is a strong advantage.
