Overview
As an Earth Observations Manager, you will contribute to the development and application of geospatial analyses and methodologies for nature-based solutions and climate-related projects. You will support the generation of high-quality, data-driven insights to inform environmental decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Conduct geospatial analysis and modeling to assess environmental patterns, land use, and climate-related risks.
- Apply and support carbon methodologies (e.g., ARR, REDD+, sustainable land management) in project development and assessment.
- Develop and implement automated geospatial workflows using Python, R, or Google Earth Engine.
- Produce high-quality maps, visualizations, and technical outputs to support internal and external decision-making.
- Perform eligibility, risk, and vulnerability assessments for nature-based and climate projects.
- Support biomass estimation and carbon accounting using remote sensing data.
- Analyze ecosystem and biodiversity metrics, including habitat condition, fragmentation, and carbon sequestration.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of geospatial databases and analytical tools.
- Provide technical input to proposals, reports, and research applications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, implement, and improve geospatial methodologies and project approaches.
Qualifications
- A degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience in geospatial data analysis.
- Hands‑on experience with GIS tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Google Earth Engine).
- Solid understanding of climate change, nature-based solutions, and environmental systems.
- Experience with remote sensing data and spatial datasets.
- Ability to translate complex analyses into clear, structured insights and visual outputs.
- A proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in an international environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
