Zusammenfassung

Redcare Pharmacy is seeking a high-visibility Senior Engineering Leader to guide the Retail Media and Marketplace domains. You will align two platforms’ strategies, protect delivery quality, and drive commercial impact by shaping roadmaps with Product and Commercial leadership.

You will manage two Engineering Managers, collaborate with Product and Commercial leadership, and mentor engineers across multiple teams in a fast‑moving, high-traffic environment. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of experience leading multiple engineering teams through managers or leads and experience merging domains or replacing platforms.
• Led development of commercial B2B platforms such as marketplaces, retail media, ad tech, payments or seller/partner platforms.
• Strong technical judgement with commercial thinking, linking engineering decisions to business outcomes and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to navigate ambiguity and external partners.

About the role:
Retail Media and Marketplace are two of Redcare Pharmacy's fastest-growing and most strategically important domains - and this is your opportunity to shape how they evolve together. Leading an engineering organisation of around 40 engineers across 5-7 teams, you will decide where these two distinct platforms should converge to create a seamless experience for brands, sellers and Redcare, and where they should remain separate to perform at their best.
This is a high-visibility leadership role where your decisions will directly influence our customer experience and commercial growth. Reporting to our Executive Director of Engineering / VP of Engineering, you will lead through two Engineering Managers and partner closely with Product and Commercial leadership to turn engineering strategy into measurable business outcomes.

Job Description
About your tasks:

• Shape Retail Media & Marketplace: Set the engineering direction across both domains, deciding where the platforms should converge to create the most value for brands, sellers and Redcare.
• Lead and grow the organisation: Develop your Engineering Managers and their teams, shaping the organisation as the domains evolve while creating an environment with clear ownership and autonomy.
• Drive engineering excellence: Own delivery, reliability, architecture and technical debt, continuously raising engineering maturity and enabling teams to move quickly without compromising quality.
• Turn technology into commercial impact: Co-own roadmaps with Product and Commercial, connecting engineering priorities to outcomes such as take rate, advertiser ROAS, seller economics and contribution margin.
• Own strategic partnerships: Lead engineering relationships with external platforms, integrators and agencies, including build/buy/partner decisions, integrations, SLAs and vendor performance.

Qualifications
About you:

• You have 3+ years of experience leading multiple engineering teams through managers or leads and have successfully led organisations through significant change, such as merging domains, introducing new scope or replacing a platform.
• You have led development of commercial B2B platforms such as a marketplace, retail media, ad tech, payments or a seller/partner platform, with experience across high-traffic and transactional systems.
• You combine strong technical judgement with commercial thinking, connecting engineering decisions to business outcomes and confidently partnering with senior Product and Commercial stakeholders.
• You care deeply about engineering excellence, can demonstrate measurable improvements you have driven, and are comfortable navigating ambiguity, external partners and competing priorities. Strong English communication skills are essential.
