Overview

Opportunity

Directors lead on development and delivery of strategic communications plans. They develop and land regular and proactive ideas for clients and new business targets using a strong and diverse external network of influential stakeholders. Directors for Energy & Resources have a distinct understanding of how energy and commodity markets are functioning and how regulation impacts the sector. They also have a deep understanding of decarbonization opportunities and challenges of the wider economy and industry, including upcoming technologies and trends that have a strong future impact on achieving the international climate targets.

Key Responsibilities

Directors develop and maintain strong and trusted relationships with senior client contacts to deliver strategic advice. They drive large, complex account teams, providing strategic direction and overall accountability.

They actively extend external as well as internal networks and draw insights from these, regularly manage sensitive and complex media issues and work with a variety of client and pitch teams. They act as a regional and sector expert for other geographic areas and special offers.

Directors identify new opportunities to deliver additional Brunswick expertise to the client and actively pursue and secure extensions of client relationships. They act as a leader on teams providing strategic direction based on Partner guidance and ensuring teams are working effectively, foster development of team members’ skills; serve as Development Mentor. Directors create thought leadership pieces for firm initiatives (e.g. Brunswick Review).

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
  • You have at least 6-8 years of experience in the energy and resources sectors, management or communications consulting, corporate communications, investor relations or journalism with a focus on energy and resources matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong and trusted relationships with senior client contacts to deliver strategic advice.
  • Drive large, complex account teams, providing strategic direction and overall accountability.
  • Actively extend internal and external networks and draw insights from these.
  • Regularly manage sensitive and complex media issues.
  • Work with a variety of client and pitch teams, serving as a regional / sector expert for other geographies and specialist offers.
  • Use deep knowledge of key sectors to promote new business approaches and ideas.
  • Identify new opportunities to deliver additional Brunswick expertise to the client; actively pursue and secure extensions of client relationships.
  • Act as a leader on teams, providing strategic direction based on Partner guidance and ensuring teams are working effectively.
  • Foster development of team members’ skills; serve as Development Mentor.
  • Create thought leadership pieces for firm initiatives (e.g. Brunswick Review).
