Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced on-prem Kubernetes specialist in Berlin to design, build, and operate scalable cluster environments. You will drive automation with CI/CD pipelines and IaC, while implementing security and observability across the platform.

You will collaborate with development teams to promote DevOps practices and continuously document and improve operational standards for high availability and resilience.

Qualifikationen

• Extensive experience operating Kubernetes on-premises; managed cloud-only experience is not sufficient.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker, containerd, or CRI-O.
• Experience with Service Mesh.
• Proven experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with monitoring and observability.
• Strong Linux administration knowledge (Ubuntu, RHEL, or SLES).
• Scripting and automation: Bash and Python required; Go is a plus.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, load balancing, ingress, firewalls, DNS.
• Infrastructure as Code with Ansible and Terraform in regulated environments.
• Storage systems in Kubernetes experience.
• GitOps or configuration automation experience.
• Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS are a plus.
• Team spirit and responsibility when operating critical systems.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and operate on-premises Kubernetes environments.

• Automate infrastructure processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools


• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines


• Operate and monitor the platform, including monitoring, logging, and alerting


• Implement Network Policies, Service Mesh, and East-West traffic optimization


• Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of the container platform


• Integrate new services and microservices into the Kubernetes environment


• Troubleshoot and optimize performance in complex cluster environments


• Implement security measures such as RBAC, Secrets Management, Network Policies, and image scanning


• Integrate and operate bare-metal storage solutions for Kubernetes


• Manage CSI drivers and distributed storage systems


• Manage the lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters and associated system components


• Work closely with development teams to promote DevOps practices


• Document systems, create operational concepts, and continuously develop technical standards

Requirements

• Extensive experience operating Kubernetes on-premises; experience limited to managed cloud environments is not sufficient


• Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker, containerd, or CRI-O


• Experience with Service Mesh


• Proven experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines


• Experience with monitoring and observability


• Very good knowledge of Linux administration, particularly Ubuntu, RHEL, or SLES


• Knowledge of scripting and automation; Bash and Python required, Go is a plus


• Knowledge of virtualization technologies


• Knowledge of high-availability and cluster design


• Networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, load balancing, ingress, firewalls, and DNS


• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies, such as Ansible and Terraform, in regulated environments


• Experience with storage systems in Kubernetes


• Experience with GitOps or configuration automation
