Job summary

Gulp AG am Standort Oberkochen/Aalen sucht einen FPGA-Entwickler (m/w/d) für die Entwicklung und Integration von Hochleistungs-FPGA-Modulen in High-Tech-Mechatronik. Sie analysieren Anforderungen, entwerfen FPGA-Architekturen, implementieren in VHDL, simulieren mit Questa-SIM/ModelSim und betreuen Prototypen gemeinsam mit Partnern.

Wichtige Kenntnisse beinhalten VHDL, Vivado, Zynq UltraScale+ sowie Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse.

Qualifications

• Abgeschlossenes Studium der Elektrotechnik, Informatik oder verwandten Ingenieurwissenschaften (mindestens Bachelor).
• Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung in der FPGA-Entwicklung.
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse in VHDL (VHDL-2008 bevorzugt) sowie Vivado und Questa-SIM/ModelSim.
• Fundierte Kenntnisse moderner FPGA-Architekturen, idealerweise Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+.
• Praxis in automatisierter FPGA-Verifikation mit VUnit.
• Programmierkenntnisse in Python oder C++.
• Hardwarenahe Softwarekenntnisse: Linux Userland und Kernel Space; Buildroot-Vorkenntnisse vorteilhaft.
• Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und gute Englischkenntnisse.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: Analyse von Systemanforderungen und Entwurf von FPGA-Architekturen.
• Module Development & Integration: Entwurf, Weiterentwicklung und Wartung von FPGA-Modulen.
• Implementation & Simulation: Implementierung von FPGA-Code in VHDL und Simulation.
• Prototype commissioning: Betreuung der Inbetriebnahme von Hardware-Prototypen inkl. FPGA-Komponenten.
• Hardware design interface: Unterstützung beim FPGA-Pinout-Design.
• Partner management: Koordination externer Entwicklungsteile.
• Documentation: Eigenständige Erstellung von Entwicklungsdokumenten und Präsentationen.

Job description

Our client is a leading high-tech company known for pioneering developments in high-precision mechatronics and sensor technology. At their location in the Oberkochen/Aalen region, they develop sophisticated high-end mechatronic solutions and controlled stabilization platforms for state-of-the-art sensor systems. In a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment, you will work at the interface of hardware and firmware, bringing technological innovations directly into application. Architecture & Design: You will analyze system requirements and design high-performance FPGA architectures in close collaboration with the control engineering and circuit board design teams. Module Development & Integration: You will be responsible for the design, (further) development, and maintenance of FPGA modules for controlled stabilization platforms. Implementation & Simulation: You will implement the FPGA code in VHDL and conduct comprehensive simulations for the developed modules. Prototype commissioning: You will oversee and manage the commissioning of hardware prototypes, including FPGA components, in collaboration with internal departments and external partners. Hardware design interface: You will actively support the circuit design of FPGA boards, particularly in defining and optimizing the FPGA pinout. Partner and interface management: You will define, coordinate, and manage external development components, ensuring the highest quality and development goals are met. Documentation and decision-making: You will independently develop well-founded decision-making documents and transparently document and present your development results to the team.

• Ausbildung: Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium der Elektrotechnik, Informatik oder eines verwandten ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Studiengangs (mindestens Bachelor).
• Berufserfahrung: Mehrjährigeeinschlägige Praxis in der professionellen FPGA-Entwicklung.
• VHDL & EDA-Tools: Sehr gute Kenntnisse in VHDL (vorzugsweise VHDL-2008) sowie fundierte Erfahrung mit der Vivado Design Suite und Questa-SIM oder ModelSim.
• FPGA-Architekturen: Fundierte Kenntnisse im Umgang mit modernen FPGAs, idealerweise Erfahrung mit Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ Plattformen.
• Verifikation & Test: Fundierte Praxis in der Erstellung automatisierter FPGA-Testfälle mit VUnit.
• Programmierkenntnisse: Idealerweise Programmiererfahrung in Python oder C++.
• Hardwarenahe Software: Erste Kenntnisse im Userland und Kernel Space unter Linux für hardwarenahe Plattformen sowie im System-Setup mittels Buildroot sind von Vorteil.
• Kommunikation & Arbeitsweise: Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und versierte Englischkenntnisse.
