Job summary

Critical Playground LLC in Berlin is seeking a Design Director to lead and elevate brand identities across arts, culture, tech, lifestyle and fitness sectors.

You’ll balance hands-on craft with team leadership, inspiring junior designers while steering projects from concept through execution in a hybrid Berlin studio.

Relocation sponsorship is available; the role is hybrid (4 days in studio, Friday work-from-home) with a salary up to €105k depending on experience.

We’re proud to be working with a top international branding and design agency, which is expanding and looking to hire a brilliant Design Director to join their team in Berlin!

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a top agency that produces exceptional work across the arts & culture, tech, lifestyle, and fitness sectors!

They’re looking for candidates who have a high level of craft and understanding of, symbolism, typography, colour, illustration, iconography and art direction!

You’ll be equal parts designer and leader, you’ll be an integral part of the team, inspiring junior members of the team and leading on projects. You’ll champion exceptional brand identities and will do whatever is required, practically or creatively, to make them a reality.

They would like to see profiles from agencies such as Porto Rocha, Ragged Edge, Further etc.

They can also offer sponsorship if people want to relocate to Berlin.

This is a hybrid role, with 4 days in the Berlin-based studio (Friday WFH) and the salary is up to €105k depending on experience!
