Holidu in Munich is seeking a Data Scientist to own end-to-end ML use cases within our BI-driven analytics stack. You will build production-ready models for rankings, pricing, and demand forecasting within a cross-functional team.

Qualifikationen

• Quantitative degree in ML, CS, math, physics, or related field.
• Strong foundations in statistics, predictive modelling, and machine learning; hands-on Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with tree-based models (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost) on large-scale tabular data.
• Proactive, self-starting mindset with enthusiasm for applying AI to business.

• Design, build, and own predictive models end-to-end within your problem area.

Your future team

You'll join our Data Science team within the Business Intelligence department — a group of skilled, passionate data scientists who own Holidu's machine learning and advanced analytics use cases. We'll match you to one of the most impactful ML problem areas in the company — rankings and recommendations, price optimization, demand forecasting — where you'll embed in a cross-functional team and own the data science side end-to-end. You'll work with a large and rich dataset, fast paths from concept to production, and the autonomy to act on your own judgment.

Your role in this journey

You'll own the data science and advanced analytics use cases in your problem area end-to-end and shape how machine learning creates value at Holidu. You will.

• Design, build, and own the predictive models at the core of your problem area — and take them from first prototype to production.
• Run your models in production — experiment, monitor performance, and iterate to keep accuracy and impact high.
• Spot the next opportunity yourself — identifying where data science can move the business and making the case for it.
• Drive the discussions around model choice, assumptions, and trade-offs with your cross‑functional team and stakeholders across the company — you own the technical calls in your area.
• Continuously fold AI into your workflow — finding ways to make your models, processes, and pipelines smarter and more efficient.
• Shape the team's ML strategy together with your fellow data scientists — sharing knowledge, establishing best practices, and deciding where our modelling should go next.

Your backpack is filled with

• End‑to‑end experience as a Data Scientist, with a track record of applying data science to real business problems.
• A quantitative degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Strong foundations in statistics, predictive modelling, and machine learning, with hands‑on experience in Python and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with tree‑based and gradient‑boosting models (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost) on large‑scale tabular data.
• A proactive, self‑starting mindset — you take charge of a topic, challenge your own assumptions, and see it through.
• Genuine enthusiasm for using AI in your daily work — you experiment, adopt what works, and help push the boundaries of its usage.
