Döhler is seeking a Data Scientist to join its AI team in Darmstadt. You will bridge cutting-edge machine learning with agentic AI to deliver business-ready applications.

Expect work on supervised/unsupervised models, feature engineering, and production-grade ML pipelines in cloud environments. The role combines data science and software engineering, requiring strong Python skills and experience with TensorFlow/PyTorch.

Qualifications

• Degree in data science, computer science, mathematics or statistics or equivalent.
• Strong experience in ML, modeling and data analysis using Python and frameworks.
• Hands-on with ML frameworks and model training including fine-tuning.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

As a Data Scientist in Döhler's AI team, you will bridge cutting-edge machine learning techniques and agentic AI solutions to deliver impactful business applications. The role encompasses two primary streams: (1) developing and optimizing machine learning models with internal complex data, and (2) building agentic AI solutions using foundation models and software engineering practices. The ideal candidate combines expertise in data science, and software engineering with foundational skills in cloud computing and architecture.

Your Role

Design, develop, and optimize supervised and unsupervised machine learning models, including feature engineering, exploratory data analysis, and advanced performance-tuning techniquesApply statistical and mathematical optimization methods to solve complex, data-driven business and optimization problemsDesign and implement agentic AI solutions based on state-of-the-art foundation models, including experimentation, fine-tuning, and adaptation to domain-specific use cases such as generative AI and autonomous systemsIntegrate, deploy, and operate AI models within enterprise environments by developing APIs and collaborating with software engineering teams to ensure scalable and reliable production solutionsDesign, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-based machine learning pipelines and AI infrastructure using cloud-native toolsResearch, prototype, and validate emerging AI/ML algorithms and methodologies to drive innovation and support strategic business objectivesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to define problem statements and deliver value-driven solutions

Your Profile

Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable quantitative fieldStrong experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis using Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learnHands-on experience with common ML frameworks and model training, including fine-tuning of complex modelsPractical exposure to foundation models, generative AI, or agentic systems, with strong interest in modern AI architecturesExperience with cloud platforms and MLOps concepts for scalable development and production deploymentStrong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex problems into data-driven solutionsCollaborative working style with experience in cross-functional teams
