adjoe, part of the applike group, is seeking a Data Science Director (f/m/d) in Hamburg. You will grow and lead the Programmatic Data Science team, shaping ML solutions and recommender systems for our real-time ad tech stack.

You will mentor data scientists, drive the technical roadmap, and collaborate with product and Cloud Infrastructure teams to deliver impactful data capabilities. A hybrid work model and relocation support are available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional data science experience.
• 2+ years in a leadership role (mentoring, hiring, 1-1s).
• Experience architecting ML solutions, recommender systems, and neural networks.
• Strong Python for Data Science and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage the data science team, hire and set up routines.
• Align data solutions with business goals to strengthen competitive ads.
• Mentor data scientists in modeling, networks and recommender systems.
• Stay hands-on on data science tasks for at least 50% of time.
• Own critical data science procedures from experiments to implementation.

We at adjoe have developed our own ad network that takes part in this competition, going against industry giants to present its own ads.In the competitive real-time bidding landscape, the Programmatic Data Science team operates at a rapid pace, developing cutting-edge algorithms, to create systems that outperform industry giants. Our approach is deeply rooted in rigorous research into user behavior, publisher and advertiser objectives, ensuring an optimal user experience. We are a fast-moving team that rapidly translates theory into impactful solutions, using state-of-the-art technologies and collaborating closely with product and business stakeholders.**What You Will Do:*** Grow and manage a data science team: hire new team members, organize routines in the team, set up guidelines (code style, documentation, best practices).* Understand business goals to come up with suitable data solutions to make adjoe ads a strong competitor in the AdTech industry.* Provide technical leadership by mentoring data scientists in advanced modeling, neural networks, recommender systems, and related areas, ensuring the team continually improves in technical depth, programming quality, communication, and strategic planning.* Be hands-on by working on data science tasks on your own (at least 50% of the working time).* Be the owner of critical data science procedures (experiments, implementation details).* Align with the adjoe ads product team and adjoe’s Cloud Infrastructure team on priorities, implementation details, tools and best practices.* Contribute to the company’s strategic planning.
