Amazon in Berlin is seeking an IT Specialist or IT Electronics Engineer to join their Data Center Operations (DCO) team. In this role, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of IT infrastructure and hardware for data centers in AWS Cloud regions.

You will troubleshoot and resolve a variety of infrastructure issues, uphold safety standards, and work in a dynamic 24/7 environment, participating also in on-call rotations. Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma and experience in hardware troubleshooting and networking.

Are you a technical professional interested in joining an elite team and learning the skills necessary to maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures? We are currently expanding our infrastructure team and are looking for IT Specialists/IT Electronics Engineers. You will be part of the Data Center Operations (DCO) team, overseeing the operation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and hardware for data centers in AWS Cloud regions. You will become the primary resolver for your support team, and gain troubleshooting skills on different hardware and software cases. You will troubleshoot and solve most infrastructure issues and engage other appropriate solution groups on more complex problems to drive solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world‑class safety culture. Own safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
• Diagnose hardware and network problems followed by physical repairs.
• Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Handle manual lifting of equipment within regulated weight limits.
• Work rotating shifts (morning, late, night) and weekends to maintain the 24/7 data center environment.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for off‑duty emergency calls.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience in networking.
• National of an EU member state.
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
