ISCC – International Sustainability and Carbon Certification is seeking a Data Analyst for our Cologne HQ to transform certification data into actionable insights and support data-driven decision making. You will clean, analyse and interpret data with SMEs and data engineers, helping improve data quality, usability and governance across ISCC.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, business, economics, sustainability, environmental science, or another relevant field
• At least 2 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst or in a comparable data‑related role
• Demonstrated experience with relational databases and SQL extraction
• Proficiency in cleaning and analysing data in Excel
• Excellent data analysis, cleaning and problem‑solving skills
• Experience coordinating data quality and data analysis projects
• Excellent English (C1) and very good German (B2)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Interest in sustainability topics
• Experience with scripting languages and FileMaker is an advantage

ISCC – International Sustainability and Carbon Certification is one of the leading certification systems for sustainability, traceability and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Our activities and impact are expanding, and our teams have been growing exponentially over the past three years.

To strengthen our IT & Technology team, we are looking forward to welcoming you as a Data Analyst at our headquarters in Cologne.

In this role, you will play an important part in turning certification-related data into meaningful insights and supporting data-driven decision‑making across ISCC. You will analyse, clean and interpret data in close collaboration with subject matter experts and data engineers, while also contributing to initiatives that improve the quality, consistency and usability of our data.

Your Main Duties Will Be

• Extracting, cleaning, transforming and analysing certification-related data to support colleagues in data-driven decision‑making
• Identifying trends, patterns, inconsistencies and data quality issues and translating findings into actionable insights
• Facilitating and participating in data quality initiatives in close coordination with subject matter experts and data engineers
• Supporting data‑related projects from requirements gathering and analysis through to implementation and evaluation
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business and data requirements and develop appropriate analytical solutions
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of data processes, structures and workflows
• Supporting the development and implementation of measures to improve data accuracy, consistency and completeness
• Providing first-level support for data‑related questions and assisting colleagues in the use and interpretation of data
• Contributing to the further development of data‑driven approaches and digitalisation within ISCC
• Communicating analytical results and recommendations clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Your profile

• University degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, business, economics, sustainability, environmental science, or another relevant field
• At least 2 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst or in a comparable data‑related role
• Demonstrated experience working with relational databases and extracting data using SQL
• Proficiency in cleaning and analysing data in Excel
• Excellent data analysis, data cleaning and problem‑solving skills
• Experience coordinating or contributing to data quality and data analysis projects
• Excellent English skills (at least C1‑level, written and spoken) and very good German (at least B2 level) skills
• Strong communication, project management and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data‑related topics into practical solutions
• Good understanding of sustainable supply chains and an interest in sustainability‑related topics
• Experience with one or more scripting languages and with FileMaker is an advantage
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and a structured, solution‑oriented approach
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues from different teams and areas of expertise
• Interest in data‑driven process improvements, digitalisation and technology
