Description

Help shape the future of Germany's public sector by bringing the power of the cloud to organisations that serve millions of citizens. Join AWS as a Customer Solutions Manager and turn ambitious government, education, healthcare, and not-for-profit missions into real services running on the cloud.

You'll be the trusted advisor who guides public sector customers once they start their cloud journey, from first migration to full-scale transformation and then to innovation through generative AI. This isn't a behind-the-screen role: you'll sit alongside customer leaders and project teams, earn their trust, drive programs forward, and help them solve problems that genuinely matter to the people they serve.

What makes this role different? You own the "how". While others focus on selling or building, you make sure the customer actually realises the value of the cloud. Your job is accelerating adoption, growing public sector and partner teams' cloud skills, and putting the governance in place to scale with confidence.

You'll love it here if you're curious, motivated by customer outcomes, and energised by variety. One day you're mapping a migration strategy; the next you're coaching a team through their first steps in the cloud. We'll back you with an inclusive culture, real work/life harmony, and the room to grow your career.

At AWS we value critical thinking, self-motivation, and the ability to deal with ambiguity. We love people who innovate, use data to make decisions, and can express themselves thoughtfully. This position requires at least 25% travel within Germany, dependent on customer demand.

Key job responsibilities
  • Guide customers through the full cloud lifecycle, identifying their outcomes and accelerating the value they realise from AWS services by using the right partner solutions, generative AI, and proven best practices.
  • Work backwards from each customer's mission to define opportunities and understand the business and technical risks tied to their cloud journey — including migrations, modernisation, data analytics, and digital innovation.
  • Create, manage, and deliver migrations to the cloud, navigating risks and roadblocks and keeping momentum in a changing environment.
  • Partner with technical stakeholders and cross‑functional pre‑ and post‑sales teams to align on and deliver cloud adoption and migration strategies, with and on behalf of your customer.
  • Help customers build organisational readiness at the right time, cloud fluency, and hands‑on skills through skills programmes, accelerators, and training partners.
  • Help establish and mature the operating models and governance structures customers need to scale and sustain success.
  • Act as the voice of the customer inside AWS, sharing their needs with our leadership, service, and engineering teams.
  • Capture what works and turn it into reusable assets that raise the bar for how we serve customers everywhere.
A day in the life

Your focus is customers getting the real, lasting value in the cloud that they need for their outcomes, and you spend your day making that happen. You'll balance your time between customers, partners, and internal AWS teams: one moment facilitating a strategy session with a customer's leadership to align their cloud roadmap with their mission, the next working through a migration plan or coaching a team building their cloud skills for the first time. You'll navigate risks, unblock projects, and keep transformation moving. Beyond the day-to-day, you'll share what you learn so colleagues across AWS can serve their customers better.
