Interbrand in Cologne, Germany, invites a seasoned designer to join our Creative department in a full-time hybrid role. You will develop identity systems, craft branding across digital and physical touchpoints, and lead design workstreams from brief to final delivery.
You’ll collaborate with researchers and strategists, applying our Three Lenses framework and embracing emerging tools to accelerate iteration while preserving craft. German and English fluency are expected.
You're developing real craft and starting to make independent creative decisions. You know how to take a brief, explore multiple directions, and push your work to presentation-ready quality. At Interbrand, you'll make an impact on projects from briefing to completion, building systems and ideas that live across brand touchpoints. You'll learn to use our Three Lenses to guide your decisions and develop the judgment that separates good design from great design.
You're becoming fluent in emerging tools and AI applications that amplify your creative capabilities, while developing judgment about when technology enhances versus when human craft must lead. You understand how to design identity systems that flex intelligently across all consumer touchpoints—from brand strategy to digital ecosystems to physical experiences.
As this role is located in Germany within an international working context, we are looking for business fluency in German and English.
Proven portfolio demonstrating understanding of identity systems and how design works across touchpoints. You’ve had junior roles in brand design and understand the fundamentals of craft. You demonstrate ability to work effectively across digital, physical, and experiential design. Experience or strong interest in emerging design tools and/or AI-assisted creative workflows is preferred.
You make confident design decisions and can explain the thinking behind them. You know when to push a direction further and when something is or isn’t working. You’re developing a strong point of view on design. You understand identity systems as holistic, interconnected frameworks—not separate silos for print, web, and experience. You see how a single design decision cascades across touchpoints and impacts customer perception and their brand experience.
You work as an equal with researchers, analysts and strategists, contributing ideas and helping shape how concepts come to life visually. You push back constructively and engage as a peer, not just a supporter.
You actively seek feedback and apply it to strengthen your work. You’re genuinely interested in developing your craft and learning from more experienced designers around you. You are proactive about learning and understanding new tools and apply them in your day to day work processes.
You explain your design decisions clearly and confidently in critiques and presentations. You structure updates and flag issues early so everyone knows where you stand.
You own your workstreams end-to-end and hold yourself accountable for outcomes. You manage your workload independently, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards for craft and detail.
