A leading clean beauty brand is seeking a proactive Country Manager for China. This role demands a strategy-focused leader with extensive experience in the Chinese e-commerce landscape, especially on platforms like Douyin and Tmall. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational background, outstanding communication skills, and a deep understanding of the local beauty culture. JUNGLÜCK is one of Germany's leading brands for clean beauty, active ingredient cosmetics, and sustainable skincare. With a strong focus on effectiveness, transparency, and responsibility, we are building one of Europe's most relevant skincare brands. As a growing D2C company, we want to enter the Chinese market in 2026—with a social commerce-first approach (Douyin/XHS) and a strong KOL strategy.
For this strategic step, we are looking for a Country Manager China who will be responsible for the entire market entry and build our expansion in China from the ground up.
Strategy & market entry
Overall responsibility for go-to-market in China (strategy → launch → scaling)
Development and implementation of a Douyin-first social commerce approach
Platform and content management
Setup and management of our accounts on Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Tmall Global, and WeChat
Establishment of a local KOL/creator network
Localization of products, claims, packaging, and storytelling for the Chinese market
Testing of claims, hooks, and viral content
Regulatory & Compliance
Management of relevant NMPA and CBEC processes
Ensuring all regulatory, customs, and product-related requirements are met
Supply Chain & Operations
Establishment of a bonded warehouse model and all CBEC logistics processes
Performance & steering
Ownership of the business case for China
Regular reporting to C-level
Management of external agencies and service partners
Team building & leadership
Establishment of a small, cross-functional China project team
Close cooperation with regulatory, supply chain, brand, and marketing in Germany
Must-haves
5+ years of professional experience in the Chinese e-commerce, social commerce, or beauty ecosystem
In-depth operational experience with Douyin, Tmall Global, livestreaming, KOL/creator management
Confidence in dealing with regulatory issues
Successful support of market entries or scaling of Western brands in China
Skillset
Strategically strong, yet hands-on and operational
Excellent project management and ownership mentality
High level of communication and negotiation skills with platforms and agencies
Deep understanding of Chinese beauty culture and consumer needs
Languages
Mandarin: fluent
English: very good
German: nice-to-have
