Jobbeschreibung

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Counsel (Employment & Litigation) based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to become a trusted legal advisor across employment, litigation, and commercial contracting matters.

You'll work closely with People, Procurement, business, and legal stakeholders to manage day-to-day legal needs in a fast-growing environment.

The position combines practical legal counseling, risk assessment, dispute management, contract review, and investigations.

You'll have meaningful ownership over matters while partnering with senior legal leaders on complex or high-impact issues.

As the organization grows, the role will expand into broader corporate responsibilities and greater strategic influence.

This is an ideal opportunity for an attorney who enjoys variety, operates independently, and brings strong judgment to evolving legal and business challenges.

The position is remote and provides a clear path toward increased responsibility within the Legal & Compliance function.

Accountabilities
  • Serve as the primary legal advisor to the People team on employment-law matters, including HR policies, processes, employee issues, and potential employment claims.
  • Monitor and analyze federal and state employment laws and regulations, advising stakeholders on compliance requirements and operational changes.
  • Lead the legal response to potential, threatened, and active employment claims and litigation, including risk assessments, settlement strategies, administrative matters, and arbitration.
  • Provide day-to-day legal guidance on broader commercial disputes and litigation involving the organization, including contractual disputes with service providers.
  • Partner with senior legal counsel to assess litigation exposure, develop resolution strategies, and prepare recommendations for potential settlements.
  • Support Procurement by reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts with service providers and other commercial counterparties.
  • Research relevant laws, regulations, agreements and other legal instruments and prepare clear written analyses and recommendations for senior legal leadership.
  • Advise on and lead investigations involving whistleblower matters, including applicable reporting and response requirements.
  • Collaborate on the development and revision of internal policies and procedures, including policies outside the employment-law function.
  • Gradually take on responsibility for administering and improving standard contracts used across core business operations.
  • Support Sales and other business teams by addressing legal questions and concerns relating to standard agreements and customer-facing matters.
  • Develop broader legal expertise over time, taking on increasingly senior responsibilities and contributing to the organization’s long‑term legal strategy.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited institution and admission to a state bar in good standing.
  • At least 2 years of experience at a major law firm or in a corporate legal department.
  • At least 2 years of experience advising on human resources and employment-law matters under applicable federal and state laws.
  • Experience handling employment claims or litigation, including administrative proceedings and employment-related arbitration before forums such as AAA or JAMS.
  • Experience researching new and existing regulations and translating legal requirements into practical operational guidance.
  • Some experience with general commercial litigation and disputes.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and revising commercial contracts outside the employment-law context.
  • Experience counseling clients on whistleblower claims and managing related investigations and reporting requirements is valuable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to clearly communicate complex facts, legal issues, risks, and recommendations both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and shifting priorities effectively.
  • Independent, proactive approach with strong judgment and the ability to develop solutions that address both immediate needs and longer‑term business interests.
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working across different functions and levels of seniority.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑moving environment where priorities and legal challenges may evolve quickly.
Benefits
  • Base salary: $129,000--$145,000 annually, with total compensation determined based on a range of relevant factors.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life and disability coverage.
  • Parental leave.
  • Monthly technology expense stipend.
