Qualifikationen

• 6+ years in auditing and/or accounting, preferably Big 4 or fast-growing tech.
• 2+ years people management experience.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/Bilanzbuchhalter/StB or equivalent).
• Experience using Floqast or BlackLine and AI tools to automate AP.
• IFRS and multi-entity accounting knowledge.
• ERP systems experience in finance.
• Ability to balance details with company-wide view.
• Strong PM and analytical skills; proactive problem solver.
• Fluent in English; German/Spanish a plus.

We are seeking an Core Accounting Lead (d/f/m), leading our Accounts Payable team and bank approval processes, driving our Local GAAP close, and acting as a key partner across statutory, audit, tax and compliance matters.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

• Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, including workload allocation, performance assessment, coaching, escalation support and backup coverage across all AP processes.
• Review and approve all bank payments, accounting journals and oversee core AP operations such as supplier master data approvals and Procure-to-Pay processes.
• Coordinate and administer the Local GAAP month-end and year-end close process across a number of legal entities, including oversight and review of general ledger areas prepared by the team (prepayments, fixed assets, payroll accounting, intercompany accounting, etc.), the close timeline, journal approvals, balance sheet reviews, revaluations, the close-management system, variance analysis, plus the quarterly system access review for the external audit.
• Coordinate and oversee the full international local entity audit process, and oversee and coordinate the GRP (Group) audit for the team's respective areas of responsibility.
• Handle ad hoc statutory, compliance and cross-functional activity, including cross-border statistical filings, cost-centre budget coordination with FP&A, supporting tax related matters and group financial statement filings in relevant registries.

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

• You have 6+ years of relevant professional experience in auditing and/or accounting, preferably in a "Big 4" audit firm (or equivalent) or a fast-growing B2B tech, software, or SaaS environment including 2+ years people management experience.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK), Steuerberater (StB), or equivalent).
• Experience in leveraging modern automation platforms (eg. Floqast or Blackline) and generative AI tools to streamline and automate accounts payable processes.
• Strong accounting knowledge, including IFRS & multi-entity; a basic understanding of relevant tax requirements is a plus.
• Experience in bookkeeping operations and local entity accounting in different jurisdictions.
• Experience working with finance ERP systems.
• Ability to understand both the details and the company-wide picture.
• Strong project management and analytical skills, with a clear focus on effectively setting and executing priorities.
• Effective communication and excellent collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for building from scratch and driving continuous improvement.
• Fluent in English. German and/or Spanish is a plus
• AI Fluency - You have hands-on experience using AI to improve your workflow, and the sound judgment to know exactly when to rely on it and when to step in yourself.
