- Develop control algorithms for power electronics converters and power systems
- Use classical and modern control techniques to analyse system dynamics, stability regions and bandwidth limitations
- Design robust control strategies to ensure stable and reliable operation under varying conditions and in the presence of uncertainty
- Develop mathematical models of power electronic systems and controlled plants
- Conduct small-signal and large-signal analyses using frequency-domain and time-domain methods
- Design and tune controllers using PI techniques, state-space control, observer-based methods or equivalents
- Simulate control systems using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or similar environments
- Validate the performance of controls through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing or experimental measurements
- Work closely with power electronics, firmware and systems engineers to implement integrated controls
- Support the implementation of control algorithms on digital platforms such as microcontrollers, digital signal processors (DSPs), or field‑programmable gate arrays (FPGAs)
- Analyse experimental results and correlate them with simulations and theoretical predictions
- Prepare technical documentation, control design reports and validation summaries
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of control design methodologies and best practices
