Job summary

Cyber Valley GmbH's ELLIS Institute Tübingen seeks an experienced communications professional to take strategic ownership of its communications. You will craft and drive internal and external messaging and elevate the institute's story across channels.

You will build relationships with the press and key stakeholders in science, politics and industry, coordinate media interactions, and design outreach formats like public lectures and events, shaping a strong, consistent brand for the institute.

TheELLIS Institute Tübingenwas founded in 2023 and has quickly established itself as one of the leading centers for fundamental AI research. Their mission: to advance pioneering AI research in Europe and worldwide – and to retain top talents in Europe. In the heart of the dynamic Cyber Valley, they work closely with the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and the Tübingen AI Center.

Your Responsibilities

• You develop and implement their internal and external communications and outreach strategy.
• You manage and develop theirdigital presence across their website, news, and social media channels.
• You make complex research tangible: through storytelling, press releases, news articles, and editorial content.
• You build and expand relationships with the press and with stakeholders from science, politics, industry, and society.

Your Profile

• Solid professional experience in communications, ideally in science, research, or a comparable environment
• Excellent writing skills in German and English
• Proven experience in social media management and running digital channels
• Strategic thinking skills and a hands-on approach to execution and communication.
• A strong sense of storytelling and genuine interest in AI
• Initiative, reliability, and a willingness to take on responsibility

Compensation is up to TV-L E13 (classification and level depending on qualifications and relevant professional experience).
