Role Summary

Commercial Director (f / m / d) – Mass Retail Channel Germany. The role reports to the Senior Sales Director and is based in Neuss, Germany.

Key responsibilities include accelerating our mass retail channel strategy in Germany, focusing on Grocery & Discount (LEH + Discount) channels, delivering the Go to Market Strategy, meeting and exceeding KPIs, and shaping medium‑to‑long‑term future plans with our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Channel Ownership: Full commercial ownership of the Grocery and Discount channels in Germany.
  • Customer Strategy: Develop and execute differentiated strategies for each retailer, aligned with broader commercial goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of National Account Managers and Key Account Executives.
  • P & L Management: Own the sales forecast, gross margins, trade spends, promotional budgets, and revenue targets per customer.
  • Negotiation Excellence: Lead annual negotiations with local and regional customers including buying groups.
  • Retailer Relationships: Build strong, trust‑based partnerships with top retailer partners.
  • Contribute to wider Germany sales success as a key member of the leadership team, undertaking wider leadership projects, deputising for Senior Sales Director as required.
Qualifications
  • 8–10 years of senior leadership experience with an outstanding track record of success in sales, preferably in Mass and/or Discount channel (though not mandatory).
  • Strong track record in negotiations, trade spend management, and market share growth.
  • Demonstrated success in both strategic planning and execution.
  • Proven experience with people development.
  • International experience is an advantage.
