Job summary

SEITENBAU GmbH is seeking a motivated DevOps & Cloud Engineer to build and maintain cloud infrastructures using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep our platform stable, scalable, and maintainable.

Responsibilities include automating infrastructure tasks, implementing IaC, and improving monitoring and reliability. German language at C1 level is required, with on-call rotations as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience developing and operating cloud-native platforms and infrastructures.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, including designing, deploying, and managing complex clusters in production environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Pulumi and/or Terraform.
• Understanding of modern software development principles, preferably with Python.
• Pragmatic problem-solving skills with sound judgment under time pressure.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations within regular working hours.
• Excellent command of German language skills (minimum C1 level).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your team to develop and operate modern cloud and platform infrastructures based on Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Ensure the stability, scalability, and maintainability of our internal platform, continuously enhancing it to meet evolving needs.
• Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
• Implement and develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions, continuously refining automation processes and platform components.
• Establish and optimize monitoring and alerting systems to detect issues early and ensure quick resolution.
• Analyze technical disruptions and error patterns, identify sustainable solutions, and incorporate insights into platform development.
• Work closely with software developers and other technical teams, contributing early in the development process with your infrastructure and reliability expertise.
• Support the development and refinement of standards and best practices for operating modern cloud and platform solutions.

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and passionate DevOps & Cloud Engineer (m/w/d) to join our team, either in Konstanz, Berlin, or remotely. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining modern cloud and platform infrastructures utilizing Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our internal platform remains stable, scalable, and easily maintainable over the long term. Your expertise will help automate infrastructure and operational processes, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency. The role offers an excellent opportunity to influence the technical direction of our cloud solutions, implement best practices, and ensure high reliability and performance of our systems. You will also be involved in analyzing technical issues, developing sustainable solutions, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our platform and processes.
