Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Clinical Trial Psych Rater who is German-speaking with fluency in English. This remote/virtual role expects about 10-16 hours per month as a Clinical Specialist, supporting standardized assessments and rater calibration.

The candidate will review scales used by raters, provide guidance on scoring, and assist with communication materials and documentation. A Master’s degree and at least three years in psychiatric assessment are required, with CNS trial experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in psychology, counseling, psychiatric nursing, social work, or equivalent; MD/DO/PhD preferred.
• Minimum 3 years administering psychiatric assessments, rating scales, or structured clinical interviews (e.g., MINI, MADRS, CAPS, CGI).
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience with psychiatric populations.
• Minimum 3 years administering scales in clinical research trials (not just academic work).
• Experience in CNS trials is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in orientation, training, and calibration activities.
• Review case data and prepare for rater discussions with all relevant documents.
• Conduct live interactions to provide feedback on assessment methodology and scoring.
• Complete assigned rater tasks and interactions according to schedule.
• Submit all documentation accurately and on time.

Position Overview

The Clinical Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of clinical trial data. This position involves reviewing scales administered by raters to confirm standardized assessment practices. Responsibilities include evaluating assessment quality, engaging in live discussions with raters to provide guidance on methodology and scoring techniques, and supporting rater performance through functional assessments (e.g., mock interviews). Additional tasks may include assisting with communication materials and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree (MA/MS) in Psychology, Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, or Social Work (or equivalent). MD, DO, or PhD preferred.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years administering psychiatric assessments, rating scales, and/or structured clinical interviews (specifically MINI; MADRS; CAPS; PCL-5; CSSRS; CGI: OR MINI; PANSS; AIMS; BARS; LSAS; PGI-S)

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience with psychiatric populations.

  • Minimum 3 years administering scales in clinical research trials (excluding graduate/doctoral research).

  • Experience in CNS trials preferred.

• Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for professional interaction at all levels.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving ability.

  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

Language Requirement

Current openings require fluency in English and native-level proficiency in German.
