Job summary

Department of the Air Force Child and Youth Programs is seeking a CY Program Assistant at multiple levels at Ramstein, Kapaun, and Vogelweh School Age and Youth Programs. You may qualify for bonuses with a service agreement and additional employment bonuses, pending approval.

Requirements include a high school diploma, specialized experience in childcare/youth programs, and one of several education or training pathways. Eligibility is determined per SOFA and U.S.

About the position:

This position is located at Ramstein, Kapaun, and Vogelweh School Age and Youth Programs. This position may offer Logistical Support.

May be eligible for bonus w/ service agreement, plus additional employment bonuses, pending approval.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: ALL LEVELS

Must be a high school graduate, or equivalent; and be able to provide proof (i.e., diploma or equivalent) for verification

AND

CY PROGRAM ASSISTANT (TARGET LEVEL):

Specialized Experience Requirements:

• 12 months of experience working in a childcare or youth program as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principles of child/youth development.

Education: Must possess ONE of the following:

• Completion of DoW-approved competency-based training requirements. Entry and Intermediate Level training requirements must be completed and documented by the Service;

• Possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Military School-Age Credential, or other nationally recognized child or youth development credential appropriate to the age group served;

• At least 12 semester hours of coursework directly related to the age group served from an accredited college or university

CY PROGRAM ASSISTANT (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL):

Specialized Experience Requirements:

• Six (6) months of experience equivalent to the CY-01 (Entry Level) working in a group program with children or youth.

Training/Education: In addition to the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must meet ONE of the following:

• Completion of Entry Level DoW standardized training requirements documented by the Service. For Air Force Entry Level training, this consists of completion of three (3) Air Force modules (or equivalent) and the AF Orientation Training Program;

• Completion of industry training considered equivalent to the DoW Entry Level Child and Youth Program training requirements (i.e., childcare certification program, state-required childcare training, other recognized childhood training);

• At least six (6) semester hours of college credit in early childhood, elementary, or secondary education; child and youth development, or special education.

CY PROGRAM ASSISTANT (ENTRY LEVEL):

• This is an entry level position; no previous experience required.
