Chief Operating Officer

With over 20 years in the German market, andagon people GmbH is the expert name in test automation. We excel in software testing, QA consulting, AI implementation, developing digital products, and QA career training through our Digital Academy.

We are known for our agile culture, flat organization structure, and H2H approach. We are expanding our offices throughout Germany and implementing the first steps towards internationalization.

Job purpose overview

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for arranging the company's day‑to‑day operational functions, ensuring efficiency and excellence across all departments.

The COO will work closely with owners, CEOs, and other board members to develop and drive operational strategy, improve processes, and enhance client satisfaction.

The COO is responsible for the overall financial success of the company, from formulating the strategy to executing it on operational and tactical levels. This includes analyzing and measuring performance metrics, cross‑functional collaboration, continuous process optimization, and maintaining focus on areas of potential growth or issues to be prevented or fixed.

Key responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s strategy, goals, and objectives. Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to drive company growth and profitability through development, implementation, monitoring, control, and reporting on the results of operational measures applied.
• Operational Management: Drive and manage regular daily operations, including project management, resource allocation, and workflow optimization, with constant monitoring and measurement of key metrics.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and quality. Lead initiatives to streamline operations and reduce costs.
• Team Leadership: Build, lead, mentor, and manage a high‑performing team. Foster a culture of collaboration, diversity, innovation, and high performance.
• Client Relations: Ensure efficient and effective delivery of testing services to clients through well‑organized operational processes, reflected in high client satisfaction rates (NPS > 50) and annual growth of contracts (25%). Address any client‑related operational issues promptly.
• Financial Oversight: Manage operational budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation. Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.
• ESG Initiatives: Lead development and execution of ESG initiatives, sustainability, social responsibility, and corporate governance.

Successful Applicant

• Minimum 10 years of experience in operational managerial positions with at least 5 years in senior/middle management leadership role, ideally in tech industry, digital, e‑commerce, etc.
• Strategic thinker with a visionary outlook and innovation drive, able to challenge status quo and implement strategic development plans.
• Strong leadership and team management skills; consistently works with data and analytics, measures performance, identifies bottlenecks, manages reports, and optimizes funnels and conversions.
• Speaks English (C1+); desirably speaks German (B2+).
• Proven track record of driving operational excellence and process optimization.
