Job summary

Ramboll in Berlin seeks an experienced Chief Engineer for the Power Systems group to steer electrical design across high, medium and low voltage for complex industrial and energy projects. You will work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, delivering technically sound solutions and leading engineering scopes.

This role combines engineering excellence with project leadership and client advisory in electrification of process industries, with opportunities to influence project delivery

Qualifications

• BSc/BE or MSc in electrical engineering is required.
• Proven experience in power systems and LV/MV engineering.
• Experience managing projects and small to mid-size teams.
• Commercial mindset and business acumen.
• Strong oral and written English skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of low, medium and high voltage systems per standards.
• Oversee technical scope and manage smaller/mid-size engineering teams.
• Act as the client’s technical advisor and Owners Engineer.
• Prepare technical specs for power transformers, switchgear, cables, earthing and lightning protection.
• Support procurement with technical clarifications and documentation.
• Participate in factory and site acceptance testing.
• Contribute to sales and proposal work.

Job description

Are you an experienced electrical engineer with expertise across high, medium and low voltage systems? Would you like to take a leading technical role in complex industrial and energy projects while working closely with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams?

We are looking for a ChiefEngineer to join our Power Systems department and contribute to projects focused on the electrification of process industries.

Your new role

In this role, you will take technical responsibility for electrical and power system solutions across high, medium and low voltage. You will work on projects within areas such as industrial plants, power plants, Power-to-X and oil and gas.

Our work spans different stages of project development, from early concepts and feasibility studies through FEED and detailed engineering to follow-on engineering.

You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, assess technical options and develop solutions suited to their projects. You will draw on your own engineering expertise together with specialist knowledge from across Ramboll to provide technically sound and well-founded advice.

Depending on the size and complexity of the project, you will lead the technical scope and coordinate smaller to mid-sized engineering teams. You will also contribute to strong client relationships and high‑quality project delivery.

The position combines technical engineering, project leadership and client advisory work within the electrification of process industries across high, medium and low voltage.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Lead the design of low voltage & medium voltage systems according to relevant standards and regulations
• Leading the technical scope including leading smaller/mid-size engineering teams
• Acting as the client’s technical advisor and take on the role as Owners Engineer
• Prepare technical specifications for power transformers, switchgear, cables, earthing and lightning protection
• Provide technical input and support procurement processes, including handling technical clarifications during project execution
• Participate in factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing
• Participate in sales and proposal work
