Job summary

Evonik Operations GmbH is seeking a skilled engineer to plan and coordinate complex maintenance and plant optimization projects. You will drive reliability improvements, manage projects from concept to commissioning, and prepare essential technical documentation.

Collaboration with workshops and external contractors will be essential to success. The role requires a degree in Chemical Engineering or related field, plus experience in planning, process optimization, or maintenance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related field.
• Experience in planning, process optimization, plant engineering, or maintenance.
• Knowledge of ATEX regulations and pressure equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate complex maintenance, inspection, and servicing activities.
• Ensure and continuously improve plant availability and reliability.
• Independently manage projects through all phases, from cost estimation to installation and commissioning.
• Initiate, develop, and implement process and plant optimization measures.
• Prepare process flow diagrams and technical documentation.
• Participate in process safety studies and provide expert advice.
• Collaborate with workshops and external contractors.

Responsibilities

• Planning and coordination of complex maintenance, inspection, and servicing activities
• Ensuring and continuously improving plant availability and reliability
• Independently managing projects through all phases, from cost estimation and specification of machinery and equipment to installation and commissioning
• Initiating, developing, and implementing process and plant optimization measures
• Preparing and maintaining process flow diagrams (PFDs) and other technical documentation
• Participating in and providing expert advice for process safety studies
• Collaborating with workshops and other technical disciplines, as well as engaging and coordinating external contractors

Requirements

• Successfully completed degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline, or qualification as a state-certified technician in a related field
• Initial professional experience in planning, process optimization, plant engineering, or maintenance
• Knowledge of ATEX regulations and pressure equipment is desirable
• Self-motivated and independent working style, combined with strong teamwork skills and reliability
