Jingdong Retail Germany GmbH is seeking an ambitious Category Manager to develop and grow the EU Food category. You will manage assortment, pricing, supplier relationships, and inventory to strengthen the business in the European market.

You will analyse market trends, translate insights into category strategies, and work with cross-functional teams to drive growth and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

• Manage end-to-end category management: assortment, pricing, supplier mgmt, inventory, promotions.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with national, regional and local suppliers.

• Build and optimise product assortment to meet local customer needs and competitiveness.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock availability and efficiency.
• Develop and execute category sales strategies including pricing and promotions.
• Create long-term category strategies tailored to local markets.
• Monitor competitor activity and translate insights into commercial actions.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations and Product teams to improve customer experience.

About The Team

You’ll be joining the JD.com team, which values collaboration, ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We are seeking an ambitious and driven Category Manager to support the development and growth of our EU Food category, ensuring we provide customers with the right selection of products at competitive prices. The ideal candidate will have experience in category management, buying, merchandising or procurement, with a strong ability to build meaningful supplier relationships and translate market and customer insights into effective category strategies. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape category strategy and contribute to the growth of a dynamic and fast-growing e-commerce business.

What You Will Do

• Manage the end-to-end category management process, including assortment, pricing, supplier management, inventory and promotions.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with key national, regional and local suppliers.
• Analyse category performance, customer demand, market trends and assortment gaps to identify growth opportunities and improve supplier and category performance.
• Build and continuously optimise the product assortment to meet local customer needs and strengthen category competitiveness.
• Monitor inventory levels and work closely with relevant teams to ensure healthy stock availability and inventory efficiency.
• Develop and execute category sales strategies, including pricing, promotional activities and other commercial initiatives.
• Develop long-term category strategies tailored to local market needs, supporting customer acquisition, retention and sustainable growth across key category KPIs.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing, assortment and market trends, and translate insights into actionable commercial initiatives.
• Work cross-functionally with teams including Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations and Product to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.

About You

• Relevant experience in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising, Procurement or Commercial Management, ideally within EU Food category.
• Strong understanding of customers, market dynamics, product assortment and commercial principles.
• Experience in supplier management and building effective commercial partnerships.
• Strong analytical capabilities, commercial awareness and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Highly driven, proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
