Zusammenfassung

Siemens Energy in Germany is seeking a professional/experienced engineer to join the Gas Services team. You will work in an engineering environment focused on turbine component design, simulation, and manufacturability, collaborating with global teams to drive technology advancement.

You will develop and validate advanced simulation methods, integrate manufacturability early in the design cycle, and help reduce defects, lead times, and costs while improving reliability.

Qualifikationen

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering with a focus on simulation and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in turbomachinery, turbine hot gas path components, thermal design, or related engineering fields.
  • Strong expertise in multi-physics and DfM.
  • Extensive experience with FEA, CFD, and CAD; proficiency with 3D simulation tools (ProCast, Star-CCM+, Simcenter 3D, ANSYS).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management in German and English.

Aufgaben

  • Contribute to design and optimization of turbine hot gas path components focusing on performance and manufacturability.
  • Develop high-fidelity casting simulation methods for robust foundry processes.
  • Integrate manufacturability early in the design cycle via upstream simulation.
  • Develop cooling technologies balancing thermal performance and casting feasibility.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, materials, and manufacturing teams to enable DFM workflows.
  • Identify and resolve casting challenges using advanced modeling and validation activities.

This role offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic engineering environment focused on industrial gas turbine development. You will collaborate with global and cross-functional teams on component design, manufacturability improvements, technical problem-solving, and technology advancement, while continuously expanding your expertise through practical experience and training.

In this position, you will play a key role in improving the design and manufacturing of complex turbine components. You will drive the development and validation of advanced simulation methods, including process modeling and defect prediction, to integrate manufacturability early in the design cycle. Your work will help reduce defects, lead times, and costs while increasing product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Contribution to the design and optimization of turbine hot gas path components with a focus on performance, durability, and manufacturability
  • Development and application of high-fidelity casting simulation methodologies for robust and high-yield foundry processes
  • Integration of manufacturability considerations into early-stage turbine component design through upstream simulation approaches
  • Development of innovative cooling technologies balancing thermal performance, manufacturability, and casting feasibility
  • Cross-functional collaboration with design, materials, and manufacturing teams to establish simulation-driven Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) workflows
  • Identification and resolution of complex casting challenges through advanced modeling, data-driven analysis, validation activities, and continuous enhancement of simulation methodologies
What You Bring
  • University degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering with a focus on simulation and manufacturing processes
  • Industrial experience in turbomachinery, turbine hot gas path components, thermal design, fluid systems, or related engineering applications
  • Strong expertise in multi-physics principles and Design for Manufacturability (DfM)
  • Longstanding years of experience with FEA, CFD, and CAD, including advanced 3D simulation tools (e.g., ProCast, Star-CCM+, Simcenter 3D, ANSYS)
  • High level of motivation, initiative, self-management, and innovation capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, combined with business-fluent German and English proficiency

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
