Rich’s, also known as Rich Products Corporation, is a family-owned food company dedicated to inspiring possibilities. From cakes and icings to pizza, appetizers and specialty toppings, our products are used in homes, restaurants and bakeries around the world.

As a Carvel RSR, you will be fully responsible for the direct store delivery of quality products to our supermarket accounts. This includes all aspects of store and customer service, product handling and transportation, merchandising, and communication. Key goals include sales volume, as measured on a per-store average basis, as well as overall sales in the market area, and customer service and retention.

Sales and Customer Service

  • Sells all products into all accounts, as appropriate, and accurately implements Carvel pricing strategies, including promotional pricing.
  • Sells the Carvel program to new accounts.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with supermarket personnel, resolving product or service problems promptly and ensuring excellent customer relations.
  • Executes merchandising standards and objectives at specific accounts. Increases sales through promotions and displays.
  • Maintains an accurate record of all transactions using hand-held computer units.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on supermarket freezers.

Product Handling and Transportation

  • Manages and accurately tracks inventory.
  • Ensures safety completing pre-trip safety and maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Loads and unloads product from delivery truck.
  • Rotates product and maintains supermarket Carvel freezers in a neat manner.

Communication and Teamwork

  • Maintains regular communication with Manufacturing.
  • Working with District Sales Manager, uses data to accurately forecast sales.
  • Maintains accurate records by completing product ordering and other paperwork.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Requirements:

  • Experienced (2+ years) in grocery, retail, food service or related industries in a direct sales, customer service, delivery, or other related position - Direct Store Delivery sales positions preferred.
  • Prefer valid CDL class B License (Must obtain CDL class B License within 30 days of employment) and a clean driving record.
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative in decision making.
  • Punctual and reliable in their work attendance.
  • Professional and with organizational and communication skills.
  • Possess solid general computer, math, and analysis skills.
  • 21 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

  • Driving required, while complying with all traffic laws and maintaining full DOT compliance.
  • Maintaining DOT required medical certification.
  • Extended periods of standing and sitting on a daily basis.
  • Extended walking (multiple trips truck-to-store merchandising-to-truck each stop).
  • Frequent climbing in and out of Company vehicle daily (approximately 4 ft distance from ground to truck cab and/or cargo box); climbing ladders/stairs using a proper Three-Points of Contact process.
  • Lifting not to exceed 55 pounds: required on a routine basis.
  • Walk and roll product at customer locations (parking lots, sidewalks, ramps, etc.) while encountering vehicle traffic using carts or hand truck, and encountering powered industrial trucks operated by others inside customer locations.
  • Periodically parking along city streets.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, turning, squatting, and kneeling while moving and merchandising product.
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to refrigerated walk-in truck/storage temperatures below 0 degrees.
  • Frequent handling of frozen product maintained at temperature below 0 degrees.
  • Company provided uniform and safety shoes (certified safety toe and slip resistant) required.
  • Pushing product carts (up to 450 pounds fully loaded).
  • Able to maintain alertness and work long hours that typically start in the early AM.

Compensation:

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates (Rich's), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$46,985.45-$63,568.55
