Valantic is seeking a Business Analyst Payments (all genders) to bridge market requirements, customer needs and technical implementation inside our international team in Frankfurt. You will advise on payment architectures, define specifications and support pre-sales, while collaborating with Product, Development, QA, Project Management and Support.

The role emphasizes experience in payments, ISO 20022, SEPA and banking processes, with fluent English and strong stakeholder communication.

Formación

• Degree in (business) informatics or economics or comparable qualification
• 5+ years of payments experience (banking IT or banking consulting)
• Experience in requirements analysis and writing functional specifications in bank projects
• Understanding banks’ internal processes around clearing, settlement, liquidity and back office
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Structured, solution-oriented team player with confident stakeholder communication

Responsabilidades

• Acting as a trusted advisor for customers, partner banks, and internal stakeholders

As a Business Analyst – Payments (all genders), you play a key role in shaping and evolving our payment solutions. You act as the bridge between market requirements, customer needs, and technical implementation, ensuring that our products remain innovative, scalable, and aligned with industry standards.

Your Responsibilities Include

• Advising customers on payment architectures, messaging standards, and integration scenarios
• Collaborating closely with Product Management, Development, QA, Project Management, and Support teams
• Conducting workshops, solution design sessions, and stakeholder presentations
• Analyzing customer requirements and developing implementation and integration concepts
• Creating functional specifications, solution blueprints, and architecture documentation
• Supporting pre-sales activities, including solution design and proposal preparation
• Guiding customers through the integration of our solutions into their payment and banking landscapes
• Acting as a trusted advisor for customers, partner banks, and internal stakeholders

What distinguishes you

Must Have

• You hold a degree in (business) informatics or economics, or a comparable qualification
• You have at least 5 years of experience in payments, ideally on the bank side (bank, banking IT provider or consulting for banks)
• You have experience in requirements analysis and writing functional specifications in bank projects
• You understand banks’ internal processes around clearing, settlement, liquidity and back office
• You are fluent in English, both spoken and written
• You are a structured, solution-oriented team player who communicates confidently with stakeholders

Nice To Have

• You have experience designing solution and product architectures
• You have knowledge of ISO 20022 (pain, pacs, camt)
• You have strong knowledge of SEPA (SCT, SCT Inst, SDD), SWIFT and TARGET (T2)
• You are familiar with Request to Pay (R2P), card payments or treasury processes
• You know your way around payment hubs, APIs, middleware and cloud solutions
• You have experience with agile methods, JIRA and test management
• You speak German
