Alignerr is seeking a Biology Researcher with a Masters or PhD in Biology or related fields to help train AI models in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics. This is a remote, hourly contract role with flexible scheduling.

You will work 10–40 hours per week, collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers, and evaluate AI-generated scientific content for accuracy and rigor while maintaining precise scientific language.

Who You Are

• Masters or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.)
• Deep expertise in one or more of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
• Comfortable coding in Python or R for research or analytical tasks
• Exceptionally clear written communicator — you can translate complex science into precise, readable language
• Detail-oriented, self-directed, and reliable when working independently
• Fluent in English

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems
• Background in science writing, academic publishing, or peer review
• Familiarity with AI tools or large language model evaluation workflows
• Experience designing or assessing problem sets, curricula, or research exercises
