Ceva Animal Health is seeking a Biology Lab Technician (m/f/d) for a parental leave replacement at the Riems Innovation Center near Greifswald. You will join an international team performing virology and molecular biology work to support innovative vaccine development for animals.

The role involves culture, analysis, and protocol development in a modern lab, with opportunities to contribute to preclinical studies and early product research.

Qualifications

• Completed training as a biological laboratory technician (m/f/d), comparable qualification, or a bachelor’s degree in the life sciences.
• Several years of practical experience in a microbiology laboratory.
• Proficiency with MS Office and good English skills.

Responsibilities

• Culturing and analyzing viruses, bacteria, and cell cultures.
• Conducting microbiological, molecular biological, and immunological analyses.
• Developing and optimizing test procedures for qualitative and quantitative evaluation of vaccine samples.
• Assisting with recombinant protein expression in prokaryotic systems.
• Preparing for and following up on clinical studies, as well as processing the associated samples.
• Documenting and evaluating experimental results.
• Preparing solutions, preparations, and culture media.
• Independently managing defined laboratory methods, equipment, and laboratory areas.

Your profile:

Professional Qualifications

• Completed training as a biological laboratory technician (m/f/d), comparable qualification, or a bachelor’s degree in the life sciences


• Several years of practical experience in a microbiology laboratory


• Knowledge of microbiological and molecular biology methods; experience in recombinant protein expression is a plus


• Proficiency with MS Office and good English skills


• An independent, meticulous, and responsible work ethic, as well as the ability to work in a team and flexibility
