Zusammenfassung

Nexperia Hamburg is seeking a BEOL Process Development Engineer to drive development, optimization and qualification of BEOL metallization, vias, dielectrics and CMP for automotive and high-reliability applications.

You will define process flows across deposition, etch, clean and planarization, perform reliability qualification with the reliability team, and transfer processes to manufacturing to support yield ramps.

Qualifikationen

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
  • 3–10+ years experience in semiconductor process development with focus on BEOL.
  • Strong understanding of deposition, etch, lithography and metrology.
  • Strong BEOL reliability physics knowledge (EM, SM, TDDB).
  • Hands-on BEOL development experience (metallization, dielectrics, etch, CMP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with automotive qualification (AEC-Q100).
  • Knowledge of low-k integration and advanced BEOL.
  • Cross-functional teamwork and communication.
  • Initiative and results-driven mindset.
  • Time management for on-time project delivery.

  • Conduct DOE and statistical analysis to improve yield and robustness.
  • Collaborate with design teams to define application specifications, design rules, and layout guidelines.
  • Support technology roadmap and scaling activities.
  • Transfer processes to manufacturing and support yield ramp.

About the role

The BEOL Process Development Engineer (m/f/d) is responsible for the development, optimization, and qualification of Back-End-Of-Line (BEOL) processes. This includes metallization, via integration, dielectric processes, and CMP, ensuring high performance, yield, and reliability, especially for automotive and high-reliability applications.

What you will need

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and industry standards including deposition, etch, lithography and metrology
  • Strong understanding of BEOL reliability physics (EM, SM, TDDB)
  • Hands-on experience developing BEOL (metallization, dielectrics, etch, CMP)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with automotive qualification (AEC-Q100)
  • Knowledge of low-k integration and advanced BEOL
  • Cross-functional teamwork and communication
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
