Zusammenfassung

BRG is establishing a new Forensic Investigations practice in Germany, building a team to operate across the country and internationally. You will lead investigations, manage engagements and mentor junior colleagues within a growing, global network.

The role emphasizes plan, team, quality and client relationships on a day-to-day basis, with exposure to complex disputes, regulatory matters and data-driven forensic tech projects. Hybrid work and career progression to Director await.

Qualifikationen

  • Seven or more years of relevant experience in forensic accounting, investigations, internal audit, transaction services or forensic technology.
  • Proven experience managing engagements and teams independently—you can be given a mandate and trusted to run it.
  • A professional qualification (Wirtschaftsprüfer, Steuerberater, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CFE, CIA) or an equivalent technical track record in forensic data analytics.

Aufgaben

  • Manage investigations day-to-day — work planning, team allocation, budget tracking, quality control and client communication.
  • Lead teams of three to six professionals across concurrent workstreams, often under considerable time pressure.
  • Design and oversee the substantive forensic analysis: transaction and journal entry testing, reconstruction of accounting records, funds tracing, third-party payment review, and analysis of large document populations.
  • Conduct and document interviews with witnesses and subjects, typically alongside external counsel.
  • Direct forensic technology workstreams: data preservation and processing, structured data analytics, search term design and eDiscovery review protocols.
  • Draft investigation reports and sections of expert reports to a standard that will withstand challenge.
  • Contribute to business development — proposals, pitches, client presentations and thought leadership.
  • Coach, review and appraise junior colleagues, and take a role in recruiting as the team grows.

Jobbeschreibung

We Do Consulting Differently

We are establishing BRG’s Forensic Investigations practice in Germany. This is a genuine build — a new team, in a new market, with the methodology, credentials and global network of an established international firm behind it, and without the constraints of a legacy structure.

The practice focuses on two connected disciplines: forensic accounting and fraud investigations, and forensic technology and eDiscovery. Our work typically arises where the facts are contested and the stakes are high — special investigations for supervisory boards and audit committees, allegations of financial misstatement, corruption and misappropriation, regulatory and criminal proceedings, and post-transaction disputes.

The engagement management layer of the practice. You run the work: the plan, the team, the quality and the client relationship on a day-to-day basis.

Your Responsibilities

Your Profile
  • Seven or more years of relevant experience in forensic accounting, investigations, internal audit, transaction services or forensic technology.

  • Proven experience managing engagements and teams independently — you can be given a mandate and trusted to run it.

  • A professional qualification (Wirtschaftsprüfer, Steuerberater, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CFE, CIA) or an equivalent technical track record in forensic data analytics.

  • Strong command of accounting and financial reporting under HGB and IFRS, or deep expertise in forensic data platforms — ideally both.

  • Fluent German and English, including report writing in both languages.

  • Composure, discretion and a methodical approach to evidence.

  • Willingness to travel within Germany and internationally.

What We Offer
  • Early membership of a practice that is being built — your fingerprints will be on how it works.

  • A clear development path towards Director, with the mandate and support to get there.

  • Cross-border work through BRG’s international network.

  • Competitive base salary, performance-related bonus and comprehensive benefits.

  • Hybrid working, 30 days of annual leave, and funding for professional qualifications and training.
