  • Develop and maintain roadmaps for clinical technology and digital solutions.
  • Define, track, and communicate measures of business value and outcomes for digital investments.
  • Maintain technology demand backlog and ensure current priorities and user stories.
  • Ensure digital applications align with defined clinical processes and identify opportunities for standardization and automation.
  • Create process flows and align with stakeholders.

This role drives the digital transformation of global clinical operations by improving technology, processes, and data across the clinical trial lifecycle.

You will translate clinical stakeholder needs into scalable, fit-for-purpose digital solutions, with a strong focus on Clinical Trial Management Systems and related applications.

The position connects Clinical Operations, Development, IT, Data Science, Quality, and other functions to align requirements and deliver meaningful technology enhancements.

You will shape product roadmaps, prioritize digital investments, and ensure solutions deliver measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency, usability, and compliance.

The role combines business analysis, process optimization, project management, stakeholder leadership, and technology strategy.

You will also support innovative technology adoption, including emerging approaches that can reduce manual work and improve decision-making across clinical operations.

As an individual contributor, you will influence complex initiatives and may oversee consultants or analysts within matrixed teams.

Accountabilities:

The Associate Director will represent clinical operations needs throughout the digital solution lifecycle, from identifying business challenges and gathering requirements through implementation, adoption, and value measurement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Define enhancements for Clinical Trial Management Systems and other digital solutions supporting clinical trial planning, start-up, management, and closeout.
  • Engage clinical stakeholders across regions and functions to understand processes, pain points, requirements, and opportunities for automation.
  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements while ensuring organizational, regional, and process alignment.
  • Facilitate prioritization of technology demand based on business value, organizational priorities, competing interests, and available resources.
  • Translate priorities into actionable plans in collaboration with Development and IT teams while managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Draft and finalize business requirements and user stories for prioritized technology enhancements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, functional testing, software development lifecycle activities, and user acceptance testing.
  • Evaluate proposed designs to ensure solutions address actual business needs and deliver the expected value.
  • Develop and maintain near-term and long-term roadmaps for clinical technology and digital solutions.
  • Define, track, and communicate quantitative and qualitative measures of business value and outcomes for digital investments.
  • Curate and maintain the technology demand backlog, ensuring priorities and user stories remain current.
  • Ensure digital applications align with clearly defined clinical processes and identify opportunities for process standardization, optimization, and automation.
  • Create process flows when processes are not yet defined and align them with appropriate functional and leadership stakeholders.
  • Represent clinical operations interests as a key member of technology implementation teams.
  • Build and manage a network of end-user champions, enabling two-way communication between users and product teams.
  • Maintain a SharePoint site to support communication with end users and champions.
  • Identify relevant technology and industry trends and introduce innovative approaches that improve clinical operations.
  • Support change management activities, including communications, training, user communities, and adoption initiatives.
  • Monitor and optimize technology solution performance, quality, usability, and user satisfaction while helping troubleshoot issues.
  • Manage project progress, timelines, risks, costs, and accountabilities across digital initiatives.
  • Support documentation and lifecycle management for computerized systems in collaboration with Quality, IT, Data Science, and other internal functions.

Requirements:
