Job summary

Sephora Hannover is hiring an Assistant Store Manager (m/f/x) for a full-time role. You will lead and coach a team, manage daily sales operations, and ensure exceptional customer service. You’ll drive merchandising, scheduling, and stock control while maintaining Sephora standards on a dynamic beauty floor.

You will report to the Store Manager and act as a role model, focusing on people development, performance, and a seamless shopping experience in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years in retail, preferably beauty, with leadership experience.
• Previous management and team leadership experience is required.
• Enjoy dealing with customers and developing employees.
• Analytical and commercial working methods.
• Hands-on mindset and visible on the sales floor.
• Basic knowledge of SAP and Excel is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of English and native language of country (German).
• People-oriented, creative and innovator.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and coach store team with appraisals and training.
• Manage floor operations, floor management, and merchandising updates.
• Achieve monthly/annual sales targets and monitor KPI progress.
• Carry out morning briefings, shift handovers, and inventories.
• Plan daily staffing; coordinate zoning and store coverage.
• Open/close store with cash handling and reporting.
• Ensure Sephora Audit compliance and brand standards.
• Deputize for Store Manager during absence.

People

• Managing, developing and coaching employees, including employee appraisals
• Recording and maintaining team absence records
• Induction of new employees and organization of training courses
• Implementation of floor management
• Acting as a role model in the Sephora Attitude and passing on the Sephora DNA

Commercial Performance

• Responsibility for achieving monthly and annual sales targets including year-on-year sales growth
• Ensuring excellent customer service and alignment of the team with the customer
• Carrying out the morning briefing and shift handovers
• Ensure that we regularly surprise our customers, e.g. by organizing beauty classes in different areas, animating the hub and creating weekend looks
• Updating the visual merchandising and implementing updates and animations
• Ensuring order and cleanliness on the sales floor
• Analyzing the key figures for the respective sales categories and deriving sales activities
• Operations
• Creating the daily staff planning and coordinating employees on the store floor (zoning)
• Carrying out inventories to ensure optimum availability of goods
• Complete merchandise management, from receiving to proper storage, booking out, returns and tester management
• Responsibility for the proper opening and closing of the store, including cash register closing
• Reporting and tracking of maintenance and merchandise issues
• Deputizing for the Store Manager in case of absence
• Responsible for store operating according to Sephora Audit rules

KPIs

• Stock availability & replenishment efficiency
• Compliance with operational routines
• Development of the category
• Control of retail key figures such as MS, IPT, AVB, CR, number of services
• Inventory on schedule
• Additional tasks related to the daily business
