Assistant Store Manager - Cycling Lifestyle Brand - Berlin

Mode Search has partnered with a globally recognised cycling lifestyle brand in their search for an Assistant Store Manager, based in Berlin. This role oversees a team of five to six people and is responsible for the overall running of the Boutique, including the retail space, café, and community activities. They are looking for a Manager who is a strong business leader, with experience driving sales performance and building a motivated, high-performing team.

The brand is known for delivering world-class customer experiences and fostering community engagement. They are seeking someone who is passionate about cycling, able to train and guide the team, and capable of creating an inspiring environment for both staff and customers.

The Role

• Support the Store Manager in analysing business performance and proposing action plans to achieve commercial and operational goals.
• Ensure the Store meets sales targets and delivers exceptional customer experiences.
• Oversee daily operations, including merchandising, café service, and community events.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, setting objectives and providing ongoing feedback to maximise performance.
• Plan and conduct daily and weekly briefings to motivate the team, set goals, and demonstrate how to achieve them.
• Manage HR functions including staff scheduling, onboarding, and performance management.
• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, product presentation, and operational processes.
• Act as a brand ambassador, engaging with members, customers, and the local cycling community.
• Organise and participate in regular community rides and events to build engagement and promote the Store experience.

Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience in retail or hospitality management.
• Passion for cycling and community engagement; experience participating in cycling culture is a plus.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a small team.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to achieve sales and operational goals.
• Excellent communication skills in German (fluent) and English (good level).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomous environment while maintaining high standards.
• Enthusiasm for delivering memorable customer experiences and hosting events.
