The Role
As the Area Sales Manager for Germany, you will be a true player‑coach: you will take direct responsibility for your own sales accounts in Berlin while also leading a small high‑performing team (two direct reports) in North Rhine‑Westphalia. You will spearhead our commercial strategy in Germany, drive growth, partner with healthcare professionals, and build our brand in the men’s health space.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of two sales professionals, working hands‑on with them to define account plans, set targets and track performance.
- Manage your own portfolio of accounts and key customers, ensuring achievement of volume, revenue and margin objectives.
- Define, in collaboration with senior leadership, the German market strategy for men’s health (HCP partnerships, educational platforms, awareness initiatives).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with HCPs, Key Opinion Leaders, and other stakeholders; act as a trusted partner.
- Execute market activation initiatives: educational programmes, awareness campaigns and brand initiatives in collaboration with Marketing & Medical Affairs.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and commercial / regulatory developments in the German men’s health/therapeutic area.
- Ensure that commercial operations are conducted in full compliance with regulatory, ethical and company policy requirements.
- Provide performance reporting and insights to senior management (monthly).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified as a Pharmareferent (75 AMG) or holds an equivalent scientific qualification (5 AMG or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of successful sales experience in a relevant healthcare environment (pharmaceuticals and diagnostics) in Germany.
- Demonstrated experience in leading/managing a team (2+ direct reports) and having your own commercial responsibilities (player‑coach style).
- Proven track record of delivering growth (volume, revenue, margin) in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting.
- Excellent German language skills (native or near‑native) and strong English proficiency.
- Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments (HCPs, KOLs, payers, distributors) and build trust quickly.
- Strong strategic, analytical and planning capabilities, comfortable working with data, forecasting and CRM tools.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you are proactive, take ownership, are comfortable with ambiguity and change, and thrive in a growth‑phase company.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Germany and to the UK when required.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience promoting prescription medicines to urologists and endocrinologists.
