Job summary

Resonance is building its Berlin hub to serve clients across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As an Applied AI Engineer in Berlin, you’ll own features end-to-end, build production AI systems behind client engagements, and work across the stack from data pipelines to client interfaces.

You’ll ship rapidly with the latest AI tooling, contribute to Resonance’s own AI products and platform, and grow into more ownership as you prove impact.

We have recently raised one of the largest ever European seed rounds, with investment from Anthropic and Hg Capital, to deploy AI into the economy and rebuild businesses for the AI era. Why now

We believe the economic diffusion of AI is the major challenge of the next decade. Foundation models are advancing far faster than organisations can absorb them; the bottleneck is embedding AI deeply into the core processes of a company to drive an inflection in pace and create organisational advantage. Europe is falling behind on AI, and we exist to help its businesses build real, defensible advantage from it rather than simply adopting it.

The role

As an Applied AI Engineer in Berlin, you’ll build the production AI systems behind Resonance’s client engagements across DACH, driving a dramatic acceleration in productivity or a step change in growth for our key clients. You will work at the AI frontier alongside Senior AI Engineers, owning features, integrations and evals end to end. You’ll build and ship agentic systems, from agents and MCP servers into client systems to retrieval and the product around them, working across the stack from data pipelines and the AI layer to the client’s core systems and the interfaces people use. You’ll build evals and observability from day one, take features from first prototype to production, and deploy and extend what we build inside client environments, shipping at pace with the latest AI coding tools. You’ll grow with the firm by contributing to Resonance’s own AI products and shared platform, turning what you learn on each build into reusable components, and taking on more ownership as you grow.

What we’re looking for: You have extreme agency and a bias for action, thrive on ambiguity, and are AI-obsessed, getting hands-on with new models and tools the day they hit the market. You typically have up to four years building software at a startup, a scale-up, a fast-moving product team or your own company. You write production Python or TypeScript, have shipped software with an LLM at its core, at work or on your own projects, and have iterated on prompts, agent loops and evals. You’re at home with messy real-world data, APIs and SQL, you ship fast without cutting corners, and you enjoy solving problems with technical and non-technical people. You have consistently been among the top performers in high-performing environments, at university or at work. Forward deployed experience, AI side projects or a company you founded are a plus, and so is German for client work in DACH.

Logistics: Berlin, 3+ days a week in the office or at client sites, mostly in DACH and Europe. English is our working language; German is a plus. We can sponsor visas for eligible candidates, and start dates are flexible.
