Job Description
The Application Specialist will play a critical role in demonstrating our advanced MI-SIM system portfolios to both prospective and existing clients. This role involves conducting live demonstrations, providing in-depth technical support and training, and assisting with advanced imaging experiments. The Application Scientist will also contribute to the development of innovative imaging solutions, support sales activities, and engage in research initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals eager to blend technical expertise with commercial acumen, as the role offers pathways to evolve into commercial or technical sales positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Sample Preparation and Imaging: Master and apply advanced techniques for preparing and imaging super-resolution samples, ensuring high-quality results.
- Pre-Sales Testing: Conduct comprehensive pre-sales testing and evaluations of MI-SIM microscopy systems, providing expert guidance to potential users. Leverage this experience to support commercial teams by delivering both remote and on-site demonstrations, clearly articulating product value and technical advantages to prospective clients.
- On-Site Support: Provide on-site support, including training users on MI-SIM microscopy systems, designing and executing complex imaging protocols, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Market Awareness: Stay informed about trends and advancements in the bio-imaging field, gather user feedback, and contribute to the development of new features and products.
- Market Promotion: Actively participate in promotional activities, including conferences and workshops, to showcase our products in international markets.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Master’s degree or higher in Biology, Optics, or a related field with a strong emphasis on imaging and microscopy.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in sample preparation techniques (e.g., fluorescent labeling) and advanced imaging.
- Microscopy Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with super-resolution microscopy systems such as confocal, spinning disk confocal, SIM, STORM, and STED is highly desirable.
- Experience: Proven experience managing imaging facilities in academic or research institute settings is a plus.
- Versatility: Willingness to engage in all aspects of biomedical imaging instruments, including research, development, manufacturing, testing, and service.
- Commercial Interest: A keen interest in the commercial side of scientific instrumentation is a plus. Candidates who are looking to expand their career into technical sales or customer engagement will find robust opportunities for growth and development.
- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel regularly for system demonstrations, on-site client support and participation in conferences and workshops.
