Your mission

Research & Development

• Design and implement novel machine learning algorithms and models
• Conduct research on emerging AI/ML techniques and technologies
• Stay current with latest developments in AI/ML field
  
  

Engineering & Implementation

• Build and deploy ML models in production environments
• Optimize model performance, scalability, and efficiency
• Develop ML infrastructure and pipelines
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate ML solutions
  
  

Data & Analytics

• Analyze large-scale datasets to extract meaningful insights
• Design and implement data preprocessing pipelines
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout ML/AI workflows
• Develop metrics and evaluation frameworks for ML/AI systems
  
  

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
  
  

Your background

Education

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence, Statistics or related fields
• OR Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant industry experience
• Strong academic background in mathematics, statistics, and algorithms
  
  

Technical Skills

• Programming Languages: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript (aligned with our stack)
• ML/AI: Vertex AI, LangGraph, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras
• Cloud Platforms: AWS, GCP
• Data Tools: Snowflake, Apache Superset, MongoDB, Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter notebooks
• MLOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD for ML pipelines
• Version Control: Git, experiment tracking tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases)
  
  

Domain Expertise

• Deep understanding of ML algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning)
• Experience with deep learning architectures (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers)
• Knowledge of statistical methods and experimental design
• Familiarity with big data processing frameworks (Spark, Dask)
  
  

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (both written and spoken) are required for this role. (German language skills are a plus, but not required.)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
