Munich Re's Data and Analytics division in Munich is seeking an AI & Data Strategy Manager with strong strategic thinking and communication skills. You will drive the AI readiness agenda by building scalable data foundations and coordinating Data Board activities across business and central units.

You will lead strategic initiatives around AI-powered data intake, data linkage and information enrichment, develop executive papers, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate AI opportunities

The Data and Analytics division (DAA) is Munich Re's hub for Data, Analytics and AI. It drives Munich Re's Data and AI strategy, is responsible for the key enablers data, skills, governance and technology, and coordinates Data, Analytics and AI projects to create value for our core business. The Data Asset team (DAA1.1) builds the data foundations required to scale AI across Munich Re. We leverage AI-powered data intake, data linkage and external data sourcing to transform structured and unstructured information into AI-ready assets. As a key enabler of Munich Re's AI strategy, we support the implementation of high-impact AI use cases that create measurable business value. The Data Asset team is based in Munich, Germany and the US (Princeton, NJ and NYC) and works with internal and external partners across the globe. The team closely collaborates with business units and central functions to deliver strategic initiatives at the intersection of Data and AI. Reporting into the Head of Data Assets, the position provides significant exposure to senior stakeholders and contributes to shaping Munich Re's AI readiness and Data Board agenda. We are looking for an AI & Data Strategy Manager with strong strategic thinking and communication skills, a quantitative mindset and sound project management capabilities.

Your Job

• Drive Munich Re's AI readiness agenda by building the data foundations required for scalable AI adoption
• Prepare, coordinate and follow up on the Data Board and steer associated Data Enablement activities across business and central units
• Lead strategic initiatives related to AI-powered data intake, data linkage and information enrichment
• Identify and prioritize opportunities to enable high-impact AI use cases through improved data availability and connectivity
• Develop executive communication, decision papers and strategic recommendations for board members and senior executives
• Collaborate closely with business units to understand AI-related opportunities, challenges and data needs
• Support strategic discussions with clients, partners and data providers regarding data availability and AI-enabled opportunities
• Promote AI-enabled capabilities, reusable information assets and data enablement services across Munich Re

Your Profil

• University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
• Experience gained in strategy consulting, data strategy, AI transformation, or a comparable corporate strategy function
• Good understanding of AI, Generative AI, machine learning and modern approaches for transforming structured and unstructured information into AI-ready assets.
• Strong focus on delivering business impact at scale through AI, data and technology, paired with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven track record of translating business needs into scalable solutions and measurable value
• Experience in AI transformation initiatives and understanding of the data capabilities required for AI adoption, including data intake, data linkage and AI-ready information assets
• Good understanding of reinsurance and/or primary insurance
• Integrative personality, strong in building and maintaining relationships (internally and externally)
• Strong communication skills with the capability to present complex concepts across all management levels
• Drive and dedication, as well as creativity and hands-on attitude to initiate and execute use cases
• Experience in managing diverse stakeholder groups across all management levels
