Zusammenfassung

Bees & Bears is rolling out AI across the business and building the data foundation to support it. As our Applied AI Lead, you own the data/query layer and the first AI pipelines turning raw data into usable insights. This is a hands-on build role — not a strategy position.

You’ll design and implement AI data pipelines, set up observability, and integrate systems like HubSpot, Django, and FastAPI. A senior backend background with Python and AI tooling experience is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Mid-senior backend engineer with Python experience.
• Experience building integrations across APIs and databases.
• Hands-on with LLM/AI tools in production.
• Ability to scope vague problems into concrete builds.
• Understanding of data governance in sensitive data environments.

Aufgaben

• Build and maintain a data/query layer across our current systems and data warehouse.
• Design and build Bees & Bears' first AI data pipelines.
• Set up observability for AI systems, usage tracking, error monitoring, and audit logs for anything touching customer data.
• Connect HubSpot, Django, Taktile, and our v2 FastAPI APIs to support new AI use cases.
• Map and consolidate the AI tool stack to reduce shadow usage and tool sprawl.
• Work within our Red/Amber/Green data governance framework from day one.
• Define and drive the AI roadmap for Bees & Bears, coordinating closely with our Senior Data Engineer and Head of Product.

Your Mission

Bees & Bears is mid‑rollout on AI across the business and building the data foundation to support it. As our Applied AI Lead, you own the layer on top: query access, observability, and the first AI pipelines that turn raw data into something teams can actually use. This is a hands‑on build role — not a strategy role.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain a data/query layer across our current systems and data warehouse
• Design and build B&B's first AI data pipelines
• Set up observability for AI systems, usage tracking, error monitoring, and audit logs for anything touching customer data
• Connect HubSpot, Django, Taktile, and our v2 FastAPI APIs to support new AI use cases
• Map and consolidate the AI tool stack to reduce shadow usage and tool sprawl
• Work within our Red/Amber/Green data governance framework from day one
• Define and drive the AI roadmap for B&B, coordinating closely with our Senior Data Engineer and Head of Product

Your Talent

• Mid‑senior platform or backend engineering background (Python strongly preferred given our Django/FastAPI stack)
• Proven experience building integrations across multiple systems — APIs, databases, SaaS tools
• Hands‑on experience with LLM or agent platforms (Claude/Anthropic API) in a production or near‑production context
• Ability to take a vague business problem and turn it into a scoped, executable technical build
• A basic grasp of data governance in a sensitive data environment (financial, customer data)

Nice to have

• Postgres data warehousing experience; BigQuery a plus for where we're heading
• Familiarity with fintech or lending data models (underwriting, loan servicing)
• Experience in a small team where one person owns a build end to end
