For our department Accounting within General Services, we are looking for an:

Accountant (m/f/x)
Main duties
  • Entering and checking invoices on the basis of manual and automated orders
  • Carry out monthly and annual closings in accordance with current procedures and in strict compliance with established deadlines
  • Perform customer accounting, clearing and credit control tasks
  • Verify and justify accounts
  • Create, book and monitor asset accounts
  • Record and monitor cash accounts
  • Drawing up VAT returns and other Luxembourg and foreign declarations in accordance with the procedures in force, if training has been received
  • Be the main point of contact for all general accounting questions
  • Carry out various administrative tasks as required by the department
Required profile
Minimum requirements for the position
  • Secondary school diploma in accounting or proven experience
  • Proficiency in the use of standard office software
  • Fluency in English, French or German (spoken & written)
  • Ability to close projects on time
  • An affinity for figures
  • A good ability to summarise and analyse
  • Be rigorous, organised and precise
  • Good communication skills and customer focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Criteria desired or to be acquired
  • Proficiency in the department's specific programmes
Ideal candidate
  • Previous similar experience
  • Knowledge of the department's software (= mastery of the department's specific programmes)
  • Knowledge of Luxembourgish and any other language will be considered an asset
