Personio is seeking an Account Payable Accountant (d/f/m) to join the Core Accounting team in Munich or Dublin, focusing on driving automation and partnering with cross-functional teams to transform our regional AP function.

You will own end-to-end AP tasks, support month-end closes, manage supplier communication, and deliver ad hoc analyses, with 3 days per week in the office.

Qualifikationen

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years accounting experience in multi-entity, high-growth SaaS/tech.
• Knowledge of local accounting regs and EMEA VAT.
• Excel/Google Sheets proficiency.
• English fluent; German or Spanish a plus.
• Familiarity with Workday is advantageous; automation tools welcome.

Our Accounts Payable function is evolving fast, and as an Accountant (d/f/m) – Accounts Payable on the Core Accounting team, you'll be right at the center of that transformation. From driving automation to partnering with cross-functional teams on high-impact projects, you'll help build and transform the cross regional AP function at Personio.

This role requires 3 days per week in the office and is based in Dublin or Munich.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

• Own end-to-end accounts payable tasks in the preparation of month-end and year-end closings according to local GAAP, reconciliation of general ledger and sub-ledger accounts, including but not limited to supplier accruals, ensuring all deadlines are met
• Process supplier invoices, reconcile open items, and manage communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders, acting as the main driver for automating and optimizing this process
• Represent Accounts Payable on cross-functional projects — including P2P and other initiatives as they arise — driving process optimization and digitalization
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reporting to support quality assurance and generate insights for management
• Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, tax consultants, and external auditors
• Support other accounting topics when necessary (eg. payroll and fixed asset accounting)
• Handle ad-hoc requests and tasks as required

Role Requirements: What you'll need to succeed

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK), Steuerberater (StB), or equivalent)
• You have minimum of 3 years of progressive professional experience in accounting in multi entity, high growth Saas/tech environment
• You have knowledge of local accounting regulations as well as knowledge of EMEA VAT
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
• You are fluent in English (Business proficiency in German or Spanish is a plus)
• Familiarity with Workday financials would be considered an advantage
• Experience in leveraging modern automation platforms (eg Floqast or Blackline) and generative AI tools to streamline and automate accounts payable processes.
• Proactive, self-starting mindset — comfortable in evolving/undefined processes and stepping outside comfort zone
• Strong communicator who collaborates well cross-functionally
• Detail-oriented, structured, and takes ownership — thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
