The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week (100 %). The position is classified within remuneration group 13 of the collective wage agreement among the German federal states (“Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst der Länder” – TV-L). If necessary, an extension of up to three years is possible if personal and legal requirements are met.
Your Field of Work:
The Analysis of Hydrological Systems working group at the Institute of Environmental Science and Geography, which currently consists of two permanent and nine temporary scientific staff and two technical staff members, is responsible for teaching in the fields of hydrology, climatology and environmental modelling in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Geoecology/Geography/CLEWS. Demand of a growing global population for energy, water, food, and living space is radically changing our planet. Human activities alter our climate and land and water use, with a significant impact on the water cycle including its extremes. A forward-looking quantitative understanding of how changes in climate and the use of water and land resources are altering the water cycle and its extremes is crucial for planning our future. Our working group is funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's endowed professorship program to address these issues. The working language of the research group is English.
The Scope of Your Responsibilities:
Further academic qualification (doctorate or post-doctoral thesis (Habilitation)) is possible. At least one-third of working hours is available for in-depth academic work.
The teaching load is based on the requirements of the Teaching Obligations Ordinance (LehrVV) of the State of Brandenburg, as amended, and the Regulation for Calculating Teaching Load that was passed by the Senate of the University of Potsdam. This position is assigned to the group of academic employees, with further qualification opportunities.
